hey guys sorry im new to soarers and was wondering if i am able to install cruise control in my 1994 NA/6 soarer and howmuch it would cost to buy and install? i live in melbourne in the western suburbs.
I would advise against this sort of thing unless you are ready to put lots of time and dedication into it.
You'll find for features like cruise control certain bits of the cars body loom will differ, so you'll be forever looking for wiring diagrams and trying to make it work.
But you'll need the cruise control motor in the engine bay, the cruise control computer, the cruise control stalk, then figure out how to wire it all up.
Your best bet is to find a wreck that has cruise control, and go through all the wiring, and study it.
Basic knowledge of auto electrics is required at the least for this, and It's a good idea to learn how Cruise control systems work also.
Also remember there are crucial things that need to be wired up that you may miss, such as the brake signal to disengage it etc.

I disagree completely.
Stock ones have great electronic control, not seen in aftermarket ones under about $800 installed.
Forget about vacuum types (the cheapest ones) as they work badly. Just drive any mud nineties subie and you'll see.
If you have enough electrical skills to install aftermarket, you have enough to install the stock one. And you'll have all the bracketd, switches and plugs to make it look stock as a rock.
I payed $200 for a complete system from Rob (pulled it out myself to see where everything went) and I think that is reasonable. I can guarantee you won't find a better system for the money
