Hey guys, I drive a 1997 Soarer 2JZ N/A and have had a weird sound occurring after i go for a drive.

After I go for a drive, park the car and turn the ignition off, I can hear this sort of dripping or crackling sound, closer to dripping. I know the car previously had some oil leaks that were supposedly repaired when i purchased the car, however, could this be the cause of the sound? The sound itself is not rhythmical and goes away after 15 minutes or so.

I havn't noticed the sound while driving, either because it only occurs after driving or simply because I can't hear it over the engine.

Does anyone have any idea what the source of the problem may be? I've looked under the car on the road to try and find any oil on the road but I can't really tell if darker spots on the road are old and were already there or from my car.

Thanks in advanced.

Thanks for the response. How sure are you? I think my dad also mentioned that he thought it had something to do with heat.

Does this happen with most soarers? And even after short drives?

Its just that I've never heard it on any other car ever.

Nevertheless, seems like all is well then.
