hey guys I'm new here, I am currently in the process of cleaning out my throttle body and intake manifold whilst changing plugs.
Does any one no where to get cheap but good quality gaskets for intake and cam covers in new Zealand?. I am changing cam cover gaskets and doing a decent service whilst I have easy access to the motor.

cheers Aaron :-)

Hi Aaron.
I just get them from my local Toyota dealer (Waikato Toyota) - when I lived in West Auckland I used Henderson Toyota - Waikato toyota is better as they know me now and give me a good discount.
Parts for the 2JZ-GE are easy to get as there are so many of them in various Toyota and Lexus models around NZ.

I did my cam cover gasket and distributor o-ring last year as they were both leaking - can't remember what they cost, but they both arrived overnight. Also I would recommend you do the PCV at the same time if you are unsure as to its age.

I just ordered a new water pump, new front crank seal, timing belt, tensioner and tensioner pulley - again all arrived overnight - also doing the cam seals as I bought new cam seals ages ago and never got around to replacing them.

I had my throttle body right out ages ago and gave it a thorough clean as it had gotten really bad (horrible sticky yellow gunge all through it) - now I just clean it every couple of years with a few shots of carb cleaner with the engine running.

Hope that's useful info for you.
