Mine is 2002 built March from memory, same version as yours.
Yeah, I think they may not have been on the IS200 SL prior to 2004. THe 11 spoke only came in the later years. Mine still has the five spoke wheels, and I haen't seen any pre 2004 with the 11 spoke wheels. My guess is both cars, no matter what trim level, came with the 5 spoke 17" wheels, at least back in the 2002.
I don't think they mixed up the pictures. The front indicators look correct on both cars (the do differ between the 200 and 300).

wow then I must own a mutant!
I guess by locally built I should have stated locally stripped, cause the altezza was fully loaded from the word go.
I have full leather but no heated/electric seats. The GPS was an option from what I could see, it came standard in the altezza till later years it seeped to the is200.
I however didn't consider the IS300 cause it doesn't come in manual =( I had already owned a auto soarer
That brochure is correct though, all the goodies off the is300 got jammed into the is200 after '04 e.g. HID, sunroof etc as I've seen a few sportlux '03 models (like mine) that didn't have a sunroof.
But yes, as you can see the only real way to know for sure on what is optional and what is fitted is to get a proper brochure for each year and see for yourself don't trust redbook

No it was not. It makes economic sense to restrict models and options for a smaller market, Australia, where you are manufacturing overseas, Japan. The IS series in SL versions came with a load of features which were options on the Altezza 'L' specification: moonroof, leather, rear fog lights, navigation and spoiler. Of those, only navigation and moonroof were options on the earlier IS 300 SL and on the later ones they were standard. The basic Altezzas came with nothing much at all.

IS300 has heated seats. IS200 is the cheaper version in IS line hence why it may not have it, you gotta remember that.

GPS never came standard in the Altezza, it was an option in most models, though some did have it fitted standard. Can't be bothered looking for the link, but check out the forums on here:
You will see there's plenty of Altezzas with no GPS on there.

IS200 never received all the goodies from IS300 in the later stage. For example no IS200 has ever been fitted with vehicle stability control like you got in the IS300... It would only make sense not to fit it out fully, as it is essentially a cheaper model. If you were to load it with all the goodies, you would need to lift up the price to way more than the $58,500 rrp, and that wouldn't be a wise business/marketing decision given that it would be very similarly priced to the lower spec IS300 as well as the 3 series beemer...
