Just for the hell of it I played on the Personalised Plates site tonight....(yeah yeah get a life Bruce!) LOL These are available, unfortunately I'm saving for all the necessary upgrades first before adding such tomfoolery as these SORAV8 MYSORA 91SORA UZZ31 (admittedly meaningful only to us fanatics!) JAPAV8 Now all I need another four Soarers!

I would like a PP but they are such a RIP OFF! $600 for a number/letter change! Haha - Id much rather have headers or wheels! Far more useful! But if they were cheaper say couple of hundred max Id go for something like: UZZ30 4LTRGT 1991V8 or whatever something along the lines of that but meh pointless generally but would be nice!

I bought my lady "1 Luvs 1" for her prelude on her birthday last year. She was highly impressed too, but now wants a nicer car to put it on! I swore I'd never go there but am sure I'll weaken again when the rest of the jobs on the Soarer are done and dusted. Oh, and when I have a spare $650 !

... Would be good but its just like ahem $650 or whatever - A bit over the top when they generally have no gains apart from a more unique and personal rego name for your car! Would be nice if they added 15rwkw...

At least you don't have to pay extra yearly charges for having one like in a lot of Australian states.

This one would go great on a V8 with a nice set of headers... |

Yep Michael, that is what I'd probably do - but 99% of folks wouldn't get it - probably a good thing in some ways. What is yours?

Here it is. High performance Toyota. A prized car NEEDS a unique plate to make it stand out from the mundane everyday cars that are all over the place. "Which one's yours?" "See that blue one over there? No, not the light blue one, but that darker slightly greenish blue one. Yes that's it, ZX4468." Contrast with "Mine's TOYRCR over there..." |

Just out of curiosity, is it expensive to have personalised plates in NZ. in NSW is a absolute rip off, something like $500 for the first year then $350 a year on top of rego.

It's amazing how fast the prices on personalized plates have risen in the past 12-18months. It used to be only 450-500$ for one!!

When they opened for business back in the early 90's (or late 80's) a new plate was under $300. Times change, eh.

Of course the second hand plate market has deteriorated a lot since then - nobody talks about "investment plates" any more.
