HAHA. I was sure it wouldn't take long for this to be posted here.
Well as much as I love the soarer - Its fantastic, sporty and has everything I'm simply going to try flick it off for as much as I can get currently. It may sound stupid like the gold soarer thing all over again but I feel it the right thing to do!
If hopefully sold, Ill Contact my friend which whole sales quality low KM cars, purchase my pick of the bunch, tidy that up on sell it for a slight profit and do that again (which I have done once before!), then find a later model Soarer where ever, preferably a 1996-99 Soarer, Celsior, Aristo or something else in luxo pack form, which maybe hard to find but worth it if I do find one suitable.
Its really just an age thing, 1991 is fine, mines tidy as it gets generally but I just want a newer car. I just hope who ever buys it is a quality person that will look after it like I have since owning!
- And yes maybe I was slagging the 31s a bit there but alot of people think most soarers have air-suspension so I was just clearing that up for them...

Well Mike, there are a few 96 '31s hanging about. Maybe you could pick one of those up cheap Just be aware that the used car market is a buyer's market at the moment- you may find it difficult to make much of a profit. We don't want you out of a Soarer for too long eh?

Aww Mike, your crazy! Your Soarer is one of the tidiest '91's I've ever seen! Actually you'd be hard pressed to find a '96 in as good condition!
Oh, picked up a set of Supra alloys off trademe on the weekend - came with two very low wear Yokohama 225/50/R16's, so slapped them on the front, and just got two new Hankook 245/50/R16's for the rear. No more 15" hard to clean rims... Total cost $100 for the rims & tires off trademe (nobody else bid!) and $370 for the new rear tires - $470 for a much improved look isn't bad! Feels a lot better on the road too.
I'll update my profile pic once I've cleaned the car...

Well in todays market, I think it'll be a big ask for him to actually get $8.5k unless its an enthusiast and I can't see him giving it away for much less

Heading back from Canon this afternoon on the motorway and spotted a silver convertible Silvia S15! Actually took me a minute to work out what it was, as I wasn't aware they existed! It was very, very attractive, except for the stupid exhaust it had fitted (but most S15's do seem to end up with stupid exhausts) Licence plate was FAD 15. I get the 15, but WTF is FAD?
It did seem pretty gutless, he gunned it a few times on the motorway from about 80-100km/h weaving in and out of traffic and it made a hell of a lot of noise, but didn't really take off - actually I'd guess if I'd tried my car could have left him behind fairly easily. Must either be damn heavy, or non-turbo.

Haha, Nice Matt, I saw a dark Blue S15 convertible this evening... Quite interesting car!
Nope no interest really, a call or two but rather vague type ones.
Im going to attend the local Ellerslie car Fair on Sunday 9-12pm. Its only $30 so no loss really - Ill try at $7995 ono which I think is a fair price compared to the rest of the 1991 soarers and how much $ Ive invested into it so far...
If theres little or no interest I might just keep it, its such a damn good car, If something breaks Ill just have to borrow the cash from the folks and pay it back while working over the holidays... Plus main problem is theres very few cars around that suit what Im after, they are either over priced, automatic (after manual) or well over 150,000kms which I dont want any more than!

It's definitely one of the good ones - really all it needs is the front bar adjusting, and thats nothing you really notice until its pointed out. Otherwise you couldn't fault it especially for its age.
Here's a '98 JZZ31... but WTF is up with the pictures? One picture it has what looks like a '91 or possibly '94 front bar on it, another pic it has the '97 front bar, but is sitting next to another Soarer, which seems to be the same colour, has the '97 rims but no '97 skirts.
Side shots seem to show it as having no skirts - Seems to be a muddle of shots of two cars, one earlier model, one later, but they have swapped the wheels backwards and forwards between them. Engine shown is clearly a VVTi...

That is one super dodgy listing. Note also the small detail pictures which allow no reference points to see if the pics are the same car. Have you considered referring it to trade me investigations?

One car on the Toyota-Lexus wavelength which I quite like is the 1997+ Windom with the 1MZ-FE 2994cc DOHC V6 motor with 210hp.
A few of these later model windoms went by at cheap prices at turners today while I was there with one of my mates which was purchasing a car for him self.
I quite like the styling and interior etc very well apointed car and has decent amount of power under the foot - especially in VVT-ti form.
Anyone had experience with these later 90s ones? Not the crappy older ones. Id consider one of these as an option if the soarer sells.
