92 TT Soarer Auto
I was driving my soarer power on, and the Harmonic balancer separated from the whole assembly (the part that runs the belt for a/c etc).
Seemed to just drop out bottom of car with not damage to wires or piping.
Drove home about 2 km motor wouldn't run above smooth and turbo's wouldn't come in as well as no power when throttle pushed in relatively quickly.
Put new balancer on and still same problem as though the timing is out.
Checked the cams and they line up dead centre but the pulley mark seems to move the degrees from -10 to 0 after motor has been running.
I have seen that TDC seems to be stated in other threads as 0.Why would mine move degrees?
What do people suggest I look for or at?
Has anyone heard of cam belt shifting when this happens?
Cheers Richard

Might need a New Tensioner for the Timing Belt... Also, make sure you turn it over by hand before starting the car to allow the tensioner to pick up the slack and check timing again before starting.
