I have posted in electrical as well........
I have just brought a HKS speed cut defender for my UZZ31 and it is not working. I have followed the diagram that is in japanese but have found an english translation. Does any one have this in their car or installed one before? Please any help is greatly appreciated. Also a Wiring diagram could be useful for a 91 UZZ31 perhaps.

Hmm, Mike Beck would probably be your best help in Auckland - he's pretty clued up on UZZ31 electricals. Try PMing him as I don't think he checks here very often any more now he's moved on to BMW's.

A slight twinkly of brain activity in my head seems to recall that there may be multiple versions of this unit? Are you sure the unit you have is compatible with your model?

I think Tim Hutchins had a SLD on his Soarer. You could try and PM him.
Let me know what you need.

I have the T6 model that appearently (since I cant read Japanese) is the one for a UZZ31. I my brother and his boss had spent a good 5 and 1/2 hours trying to figure it out and with having it on the hoist and running it up it still wont pass 180kph but instead it has changed my gearing and makes my gearbox skip 3rd gear for some reason.... We are after a wiring diagram for a non TRC so that's a standard UZZ31 with TEMS but not Traction Control. We have all the diagnosis gear and what ever else but cant figure it out still so any help Evan would be brilliant plus I will PM Tim. Thanks.

Hehe, flattering but I havent go the wiring diagram for that sort of stuff.

I only really found solutions to problems when I needed to get something done - and was prepared to do risky work on my own car.

Can be a different story doing work on other peoples cars thats for sure.

Though, with the HKS SCD unit, I would expect that it would involve intercepting and diverting a few of the ECU's wiring from the loom in the foot well.

If you have the electrical diagrams in English then I would imagine it would be relatively easy.

Though... a dangerous thing to test. We aren't in Germany! :-( Ideal in a hoist, but Isn't it bad to let the wheels rotate when dropped so the axel joints are at their limits?

Hey Evan I couldn't remember how to wire up my SLD, I just googled a wiring diagram for it and the same for the 1JZ ecu, worked first try. I only ever took it off the clock once (about 6 months after installing the SLD) way out in the middle of nowhere late at night.

I'm currently between soarers... I had a financial crisis a few months back and had to sell her :-( I got 6k though with no wof or rego and no cert for the adjusties. I've got three project cars at the moment and hopefully picking up a new soarer next weekend, funny story actually. I got a banged up vtec integra (1993) for bugger all, fixed it up nicely and put it up for sale and some idiot wants to swap me his single turbo soarer for it! WHAT IS WRONG WITH HIM?!

Evan - give me a text, I lost all my contacts a while back, we'll have to catch up.
