Oh joy, another one... Yesterday stopped at the pedestrian crossing on Glendale Road not 2 minutes from home, waiting for school kids to cross. Guy turning right out of Glenmall Place (at give way sign) clips my left rear with his right front while NOT LOOKING LEFT AT ALL!
I mean who turns right at a give way without first looking left! He even admitted it!
ARGHHHHH!!!!!
Rear bumper will have to be resprayed now. Guys down at Challenge Panel will be loving me!
This time it was a White Toyota Vista, and he has insurance.

I am becoming a gud ol' sterio-typical 'Auckland Hater' very fast!!
I went up north to KeriKeri for the weekend and got used to driving around up there and almost had a heart attack when I got back in to Auckland.
Up there it was smooth sailing everywhere. Hardly traffic at all and everyone is so generous on the road. Get back here and you get all the morons driving 70K in the fast lane, no one indicates, people don't know how to go around roundabouts etc etc etc...
If it wasn't for the money I would have left this forsaken city long long time ago!!!

Matt you seem to attract the bad drivers. If anyone hits me i just hope they hit the front bar and are insured because i'm wanting it resprayed in any case

Well to continue my run of bad luck, today I was driven off the road by a 6 ton truck on Harris Road, East Tamaki. I was in the left hand lane about halfway up the length of the truck when he suddenly started a rapid lane change (don't know why) - no indicator or anything. I had no choice but to run the curb. Fortunately there was a large grass run off with only a lamp post and a couple of trees to avoid, which I somehow managed to do.
He pulled over which was nice, I did give him a bit of an earfull as I really thought my number was up, or at least my cars number was up. He was a nice enough old fella though, just made a mistake I guess.
Seems to be no suspension damage that I can see (will know more when its had a wheel alignment) - right front tyre is badly flat spotted and slightly delaminated, and I suspect one of the rears is possibly a bit spotty too, so it'll be new front tyres next week. Decided I'd pay for the fronts as they were pretty far gone anyway and I was planning on replacing them next month. He'll be up for the wheel alignment, rear tyres if needed, and anything else they find.
As far as I can tell, left front wheel which bore the brunt of a 30km/h collision with the curb seems to be OK, but I'll know more once they try to balance it with the new tyre.
I've been quoted some 225/50 R16's (yes, I know they are a little undersized, but its for the front & I like em that way!) Yokohama's for $196 fitted - sound OK? Any better recommendations in that size & price range?

I've now had 5 accidents in this car in the 4 years I've owned it. None of them serious fortunately, and none of them my fault (including the idiot who rolled back into me and then drove off)
Oh well, off to Hamiltron next month for good, so goodbye Auckland!
