The only real issue with my soarer was the headlights, they caught the dreaded leaking problem...
Especially the right one.
So, I've decided this weekend I will work on it and bring it back to life.
I took it out and pulled it apart tonight. Removing as much as the old sealant as possible (not fun).
I was somewhat surprised to find the projector glass had shattered around the rim... I guess time and heat has done it but it did take a bit of time cleaning out the dusty glass and small shards through out it.
Heres some pictures of how far I have got with it, not the last one showing the chipped lens, it still works but I was not too happy to find it like it was...
Shall sand it tomorrow and polish it, if I'm lucky reseal it.

I have a spare projector from broken 91 light... happy to send it to NZ for the cost of postage and a few beers. It's a LHS one if that makes any difference.

Yes, I've found that the lenses often splinter over the years. It must be very brittle glass (often good optical grade glass is quite brittle) - my current lights left hand lens was a little splintered around the edges too, not as bad as that one though. Shouldn't have any affect as its too far off centre to disrupt the light.
Awesome work Mike. I'm very happy with mine now too, other than the silicon I used (clear roofing silicone) seems to have left a bit of hazing around the edges around the indicator area as it went off. I was aware this was a possibility but thought that the well ventilated area I left them in to dry would avoid the problem. Its not bad enough to bother pulling the lights apart again to fix though, so I will live with it. And they don't leak at all any more. Fitting all the correct filter thingies is probably a big help too.
