Typical, I need a car, a bargain.... and ZILCH!

All the usual overpriced junk about on the internet.

Surely there must be more places to look other than flipping Trade Me and the like.......

...any suggestions!?

I am looking for a Soarer or Celsior, or Crown 1UZ for $3000-$4000.....

I mean theres been PLENTY when I didn't need one, but when I do need on for the supercharging project, nope!

Sigh, guess I need to be patient, but if anyone has seen anything under the hat, please let me know about it. I need to get this show on the road!

Cheers

There are some Soarers on there too.

Listed today, almost had my hopes up... two cars

A Celsior, but its for parts, no engine! DUH.

And a Soarer, with a damaged engine/water pump or something, apparent the seal is damaged. Sounds dodgy, and its in Christchurch.

Sigh

That Christchurch one rang a bell.

Ok I would say this is it.

Check his profile.

And this

Again check profile.
Same guy?

Maybe just a water pump and housing change?

Yeah it would have to be.

That is just plain old weird.

How did the subframe get damaged?
What else is still damaged on the car?
Why is he selling it suddenly after fixing it?

Mileage is about 100,000kms too many.

Plus its way too far away!

If you're looking for a Celsior for $3000-$4000, expect lots of problems.

Not in New Zealand! One can get many 98% problem free Lexus Toyotas for 3-4.5k these days. I have done in the past so, yeah.

VERY different market to your land. I wouldnt buy anything In Australia for less than 5k, otherwise your getting junk,

Celsiors tend to have lots of common problems, and many owners either don't know how to fix them or cant afford to fix them so just leave it like that.

Not necessarily, the last one I nearly bought last year for 3.5k was in good order, owned by a guy for 10 years, 151ks etc.

Needed a clean, had a bleed LCD display and cam belt doing but other than that, a very good car - kicking myself I didnt take it.

Still nothing.

Oh my god this is ridiculous.

Plenty of bargains when I didn't need one of these heavy hectors, now when I desperately do.

NOTHING!!

Apart from a collection of overly priced expensive NZ ruined examples.

OR...... you usual variety being sold by dealer, trying to flick them off for a couple more grand than what they are worth.

CRY!

Makes my 3.5K limited with "98,500" Ks seem like a dream! Rewind back to may 2008!

Your not wrong there...

I mean theres a couple of REALLY nice Soarers and Celsiors, but they are way over priced.

Asking 8-9k, when they are realistically worth 6-7k tops.

Ah well... something will be around the corner.

I had seen that for sale somewhere a few weeks ago, they were after a bit for it I think.

Actually got a LS400 front cut with 72ks on it recently, so I am not longer looking for a car fortunately.

Ok, now we know. Supra rims on {anything but a Supra} = FAIL

I think the guy was aiming for Celsior but failed. One of the dangers of wank factor Lexus rebadging

Actually I think they suit the Soarer better than they suit the Supra. But they definitely don't suit the Celsior.
