Hey guys thought I would share this with you. Just spotted it on trade me a couple of hours ago and had a look at it in person... I figured the opertunity was too good to miss having never seen a Toyota Century up close.
Unfortunately its pretty stuffed as far as I am concerned, the impact on the right has had enough force to twist the rear chassis enough to buckle the left hand side door and reduce the door shut gap to 1mm instead of around 4mm... doubtful a chassis straightening machine could repair it, but you never know!
Amazing car though. The Century's huge expense really shows, its like a Celsior x 5, everything is perfect, clean and well thought out, features you wouldn't even think existed are there... a luxo barge finatics dream. The V12, although interesting on paper is just a silent whir, probably the least interesting part of the car, after all it was built for cruising, for some reason the roof mounted A/C vents or vibrating seat features are much more appealing.
At least I know what they are like, to be fair it exceeded my expectations! One day in right circumstances I would like to import one myself but the question is, what do I really do with it? it's too big as a daily in the city, not a weekend sports car so doesn't leave much reason to have one... unless you drive your friends around as a taxi?
It seems if one had the chance to own one it would become a garage relic more than anything or become a motorway cruiser, which it would be perfect for. Easily better than any 7 or S class, at least it wouldn't break during the drive!
A real classic, at least they can be brought in as a special import.

That motor is like the flagship of Toyota. 400nm of torque just off idle. Someone dropped one in a Supra and it produced over 700kw from memory. They are pretty hard to come by though, you would pay top dollars if you found a half cut. This seems pretty cheap.
