Great to see a twin-turbo V8 like this exists in NZ, and which appears to have been done properly.

Good lucky selling it for $35,000 advertising it with upside down pictures!

Close up its worth FA. I mean think about it, you can buy a hell of a lot of nice mint cars for 30k+ that don't have horrid red engine covers, and plastic fish tank headlights. Who knows how reliable it would be too, I'd imagine going for a drive would prove to be a nightmare, then one day to add to the misery the gearbox would blow for obvious reasons.

Compare this to that 2UZFE 600HP @ 10,000rpm Supra V8 in Australia for 29k, that is a proper modified Jap import, this is just another dreamers overspend he will never get the money back on.

That has not been done properly if it's got a w58 behind it. This was a few years ago but I've blown up 3rd gear (w58) on a stock 1uz. People seem to get away with them on lighter cars when they engine swap. 407kw I was expect to be replacing the gearbox within 3 months of proper use.

Anyway, apart from that looks like quite the build!

Ed's car hands down..

There's so many cnc machined parts in Ed's 2UZ Supra he could part them out alone for 35k.

Can't agree more Mike.

Mostly valid points. I agree it's overpriced - there has been another targa built Soarer on Trademe for years, priced at $20,000, which has never sold - but it is still good to see that someone has followed through on a plan to build a monster like this, whereas most of the people on this board just only talk the talk and denigrate others efforts out of jealousy.

Overpriced by about 15 grand. I would expect for that money a modified r154 or a getrag supra 6 speed, not a $500 gearbox! Other than that I think the car is great, would be easy enough to change the wheels and re-paint the engine parts. Good luck to whoever buys this and finishes it off properly.

I also thought it was WELL overpriced, glad to see others think the same. Still a cool machine though, maybe for ~15k.

The twin turbo conversion parts and engine could fetch good money.

Depends how well it was all put together though, wouldnt want the manifolds to start cracking 12 months down the line. :-(

I would want a getrag 6spd behind that. If it was done right and was in Melbourne I would sell my and buy it for $20k. Even heard of r154s giving up at that kind of power so w58 is a waste of time. It says to me that shortcuts may have been taken elsewhere.
It's a cool idea though.

He may have been forced to put this up for sale by the girlfriend/wife, so has priced it so as to make sure he keeps it...

Haha, good point Mark.

Bit like the $795,000 Camaro on Trade Me.

The best bit is "The fastest road car in New Zealand" - not by a long shot dragging that big heavy body with only 630BHP. Quick, I'm sure, but I've seen plenty of Supra's and Skylines around that would leave it standing still, and cost less than 1/20th of what he's asking. He's totally in lala land.
