My water pumps leaking,

Anyone wrecking a 2JZ Soarer? Does any other water pump fit on?

I'd like to buy your water pump if your selling one.

Thanks,

Thanks guys, thought they would cost a arm and a leg from Toyota. $120's not bad.

And yeah I'm going to replace the belt and tensioner while I'm at it.

But you wouldn't believe how incredibly hard it was to get the crank bolt off.

The lists of things I tried includes

power bar + stater motor
Y tool to hold the crank + powerbar with extension and 2 people on each end pulling (4 people in total).
180psi rattle gun from a tire shop (which they use to remove truck bolts).

I had to take it to my mechanic to help me after that, they tried

special hammer tool used to get bolts off
oxy acetylene + hammer tool
oxy acetylene + starter

in the end we put the car up on a hoist, opened up the hole in the gearbox shoved a giant crow bar into the flexy plate. got the nut nearly red hot with oxy acetylene and hug off the nut with a power bar yes the bolt supported a bouncing growen male for a few moments before it decided to finally come out.

What a mission, my mechanic said that was the hardest crank bolt they've ever tried to get off.

Yeah, second hand water pump is like second hand loo paper. Don't go there.

If they have used that much heat on the crank bolt, they may have damaged the front seal. Replace it if in doubt.

When they sell me a water pump is it just the front pumping assembly or the whole thing? as my water pump is leaking from the rear not the actual pump (front half)

where did you buy yours from Mark? I have done a little bit of calling but have yet to call Toyota in fear of a huge price tag.
