I've just had mine sent to someone in Nelson via Toyota, not cheap though. You could call in at Mad Sound here in the Tron and talk to Carl the owner as he has a few, sadly none for a '32 for me. He knows how to recon them but you'll be without for a while and he won't be cheap.

Nothing really wrong yet that I know of, just car is now 20 years old and caps will prob cause trouble sooner than later. Got the odd symptom which could be engine ecu but more likely fuel ecu where car engine once in awhile just dies after you start it but then after couple more tries, runs like normal. Doesnt do it much so thought I would look for second hand ecu and get it reconditioned. See one of the club members in Australia does them as well. Have obtained a fuel ecu now and will put that in, not the $800 one though.

Dave I have a ECU for a UZZ32. It was running my UZZ31 for a while as I was testing it out. I've had it recapped because it seemed a bit sluggish compared to the '31 ECU and the recap only had a minimal improvement on running the '31.
I have switched back to the '31 ECU for sometime now and also replaced oxygen sensors and coil packs.'31 is running sweet.
Rod, A new fuel ECU shouldn't cost any more than $320NZD from R&B Toyota Wellington. But good to see you've got it sorted.

Dave be interested to see how much it cost you to get your ecu done. Can you let me know, at moment sourcing a ECU, new one from Japan by the way is $2500 dollars, cost you all your arms and legs and most of your body.

Rod - ECU repair was $160+gst. There'll be some labour involved unless you took it out yourself. I had 2 hrs labour but that was because the dash was also taken out for repair. Where's your nearest Toyota franchise, if Te Awamutu then ask them to speak with Mike here at Waikato Toyota. Hopefully my no start problem when hot will be a thing of the past but will need to wait until next summer to find out.

About a week Rod by the time it was removed, sent to Nelson, repaired, sent back and re-installed. That was with a w/e so it could be done Monday and back Friday. I wasn't too bothered as I had the courtesy car. The invoice only says 'repairs' but this "Mike' guy was trying to find out more but I expect the caps would be replaced as well as anything else that's obvious such as dry joints or cracks.

Thanks Dave, my car now a daily driver and was trying to get second hand ecu to save having it off the road. Seems they as scarce as hens teeth although mine not playing up that I notice but thought would get second hand one and have it done up then swap it over. Karl from Mad sounds doesnt have any nor does the toyota parts place he gave them to. Has other ecus but not the main ecus.Have you notice a difference in your car?

Not noticed anything yet. Hope to have better fuel consumption but will see what I get out of last tank fill. You should be able to get yourself a courtesy car from Toyota to keep driving.

Hi guys does anyone know the part number of Bosch oxygen sensor, single wire one for V8 Limited. Anyone fitted these, understand they are a universal sensor but need to cut off the plug and put the or original one back on to it.
