Hello everyone. I just bought a 1999 toyota soarer, factory manual single turbo vvti. It is immaculate inside not a tear or rip. Just the paint on the roof and bonnet let it down but I'll be fixing that soon.Any hints or tips are welcome. Here are a few pictures.

Hmm, my last post didn't get entered for some reason.

Congrats, Jordan, it's a lovely car. I test drove it myself back in April but didn't want to pay the asking price at the time.

Please look after it as it is certainly one of the better condition late-model, manual turbo Soarers in NZ. A pity about the paint on the bonnet and roof, I can't explain how that has happened except prolonged periods outdoors perhaps.

The 18" BBS wheels were quite nice too, although not the hard-to-find factory option BBS wheels.

Blake - it has a factory A102B diff, and R154 gearbox.

Thanks everyone, it is an epic car. Yeah Blake that is my Uncle. My Uncle thought the paint issue may have been caused by a defect in the clear coat but want sure. I'm definitely going to look after it Mike, I had some good negotiating skills... I think I got it for a good price. Does anyone have an ideas on what I should do to it after the paint?

At the time he was wanting $11,800 I think, and I offered $8,500. He later dropped it by a thousand, so I hope you got it for under $10k :-)

He was a difficult guy to negotiate with and hard to understand at times but it is what I really wanted and I think it is well worth what I payed for it compared to other cars with similar performance. I didn't pay more than $10k

Awesome car Jordan. Once you've got that paint sorted you'll have a minter! how many K's has it done? that interior looks immaculate.

Yeah it shouldn't be too hard to do. Its done 120,000 kilometers. There isn't a stain or rip on the inside. Doesn't have the wood trim, electric seats etc but I think it's real cool.

Kurt, I think James meant newbies = new members, not n00bs as you find on WoW or CoD online games :-)

I think it's great there are more NZ members on here, talking and sharing advice about the Soarer. Hopefully it's a sign that the car has a growing appreciation in NZ, and hopefully not solely by those who see it as a cheap thrill & intend to run them into the ground.

Combination of things I expect - left in the sun, never polished or waxed, taken through car washes, cleaned with harsh chemicals...

Just over 6 years for my current Soarer - prior to that I had a year driving a Corona as a fill in car, and before that had a UZZ30 Soarer for nearly 3 years - so 9 years of Soaring all up :-)

hey Jordan, gotta sell it as a whole, having a look at what else is for sale im quite confident ill get what im asking. I get all my knowledge from this website anyway, its been awesome for me the last few years, with how to's etc.
Id recommend getting an exhaust to let it breath but keep it a twin system, looks and sounds so much better!
