Just watched the Billy Connolly DVD of the tour he did in NZ, (got it for my B/Day).... anyway, in the first show he is turning his 3 wheel bike into the Speight's? brewery in Dunedin, last car to pass him before he turns is a FSG Soarer, looked fairly stock but it is only a rear shot. I zoomed in on the screen to try and read the rear plate but unable to do so.....any Kiwi from here that remembers passing a film crew with Billy on the bike?

Another query re leaky power steer pump. My car is at the moment getting its power steer pump re kitted and new bearing fitted. Was wondering what the story is with the alternator as oil is suppposed to drop into it from a leaky power steer pump. No problems with alternator but should it be taken off as well and cleaned or something of oil deposits or just left once power steer pump is fixed. Does that oil just sit in alternator and if so what damage is it doing. I assume there is some in there as it has been leaking when I got the car about 6 months ago and recent warrant of fitness check confirmed it. Could see oil around punp when it was up on the hoist. Proibably leaking some time before I got the car as well.

Don and any other interested parties. Got power steer kit plus bearing, S100. Toyota garage took out pump and sent to transmission outfit to get kit installed, took out alternator and cleaned it up, presume got any oil out of it, done by auto electrician, all fitted back on car plus they fitted new serptine belt cause other was stretched they reckon. Total cost $800. Includes new power steer fluid. About right do you think.??

Sounds about right Rod. The original owner of ours spent $1000 on getting the same thing done, except that the alternator was rebuilt, and a new battery was installed as well as the serpentine belt.
