Yup, That's the one we're talking about Don. You sure it has sonar parking thingos?? And it should be an easy fix....but I wouldn't think Giltrap would screw up that much but if I had the free money, I'd be all over it. Rodger trades under the name swampster

I thought the 1UZ was non-interferance? Unless it broke at revs and there was valve bounce, how did the valves get bent?

That's the fact that Don just edited out, and apparently it didn't break, it just skipped a few teeth.

I am reliably told by Lew the they are VERY interference. |

It could just be a case of miscommunication with the mechanic commenting it may have bent valves (In my experience it wouldn't be the first time customers hear a possibility as a definite) or something horrible could've happened and the valves are bent. I wouldn't guarantee that it will be a cheap fix for someone

Perry, I think this was brought up before and I think Neil verified that the UZ** were interference.

In that case, gawd, I'm glad mine didn't break before I replaced it - it was pretty tatty when I took it out...

Perry, Scotty has (or had) a spare V8 sitting on a stand. We were able to spin the crank and/or spin the cams with no problem. Also, this: http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/126/14155.html?1128810811#POST18799 It would be interesting to hear of Lew's experience though.

| HaHa Perry . IF I recall correctly, Neil said that the 91 - 94 modules ARE NON-interferance, BUT the 94 on modules with the higher compression ratio and 10 more horsies ARE interferance...........So there Neayh!Neayh!

Hmm, if I was buying I'd be keen - it wouldn't cost that much to fix, even worse case - and not many post '91 V8's in NZ.

Had a look at that one last weekend. It was very dirty seats needed steam cleaning wheel worn and every panel had some scrap or ding. Back bumper was worst. The Engine idled rough. High pitch metalic noise form the belt area maybe a bad bearing in belt tensioner?. Looked more hasle than it was worth. But came with a nice set of alloys with almost new tyres. Think they were 17".
