Did anyone else spot the article on the new 3 series coupe in Thursdays Herald where BMW NZ claimed that the new 330 turbo coupe is "The first twin turbo straight six in the world" or some such nonsense? Maybe they only count European cars as "the world"

They do not even need to go outside Europe. The Volvo S80 T6 has had an in-line six cylinder twin turbo of 2.8 litres since 1998. Perhaps in that case they are playing with words because the Volvo's engine is mounted across the chassis rather than fore-and-aft.
