Hi Fred- sent you an email. Would be great to have another Kiwi on the board here. I'd imagine your Soarer is probably one of the more modified models in NZ in terms of the electrical work you did- did you actually get the Soarer phone option working?

Hi Mark,
Looking back now i did probably spend too much on the car but owning 2 for a year made it alot easier. As most will know only about 862 UZZ32s were made and im basing this on the Toyota parts cds i have.Options like sunroof, front parking antenna and heated seats werent available so out they came from the UZZ31 and into the 32.I have also put in the rear air purification system that sits ontop of the fuel tank. The air goes in one rear speaker cover and out the other.Had to get those and a new rear parcel shelf without the sub hole from Japan. Most of the wiring is in the car for it and the switch sits up underneath where the remote locking system switch is located.Regarding the phone, the setup is based on the old motorola flip phone so thats all sitting in the box.I have been thinking however to mount the steering wheel controller and interfacing it to my nokia setup.
Im not spending anymore money on the car except the usual stuff.
One thing i learnt last week was about an annoying knock. For a number of years ive had an annoying knock that felt like it was under the drivers seats everytime i went around a round about.Spend hunderds in time for people to tell me they cant fix it.The other week as the car was being reversed off a hoist the mechanic touched the brakes and the calapier continued going and when he let go it spung back up.The other side did it too.I got the bottom arm bushes on both sides done (they sent the arms away to Hamilton) and when the car was back on its feet the calapiers were solid and the knock was gone.Im amazed i got so many warrants like this and that my wheel alignment stayed so accurate.
