Anyone have any good/bad experiences with the stock air suspension during those brutal winter months? Most of the guys on here probably don't experience anything like we do and just wondering if anyone has had any real problems.

I know of one guy down in calgary with airbags and he said that he hasn't had any issue yet but i would worry about long term damage due to extreme temperature swings.

I'm in Calgary too. No problems yet, though I too wonder if the bags will get brittle when it gets below - 20c. So far so good though.

Glad to hear that everyones car isn't sitting on the ground with broken bags. Probably the only thing with this car that really concerns me (due to the insanely high cost of replacement struts).

Don't forget guys that these cars came from Japan, where they have pretty cold winters with snow n' stuff in the mountainy bits.
So it's a fair bet that the air-struts won't be compromised by chilly conditions

I can understand - 20 or so Don, but what about -40 or so? Even tires can have a hard time at those temps.

Sure rub it in Dave! It gets that cold here, not for long though. In Calgary, we get Chinooks from time to time. A chinook is a warm wind that blows in from southern British columbia (Peugot Sound) and can make it go from -25c to +10c to +15c in a matter of ours. Oh, we love our Chinooks!

Definitely no chinooks in Manitoba! And -35 is no problem during the winter! Most cars here seem not too bad at -20 but when it starts dipping below -30 with a good wind things freeze up solid! Regular coils and shocks feel like concrete, I can't imaging it being very good on the bags!

This car was also sold in Canada as the Lexus SC series folks so I am sure the whole airbag issue had been tested by Toyota in low temps. Also lotsa Sc's on the road here in Canada.

Yeah Philippe but i'm fairly sure that it was only the coilover version of the V8 that was sold here, not the airbag. UZZ30's and JZZ31's.

Yeah true Scott not sure what they put in the SC here although i'm sure the airbag suspension likely was an option. Many other vehicles in Canada with airbag suspension so likely not an issue. Do not think mine has it!! How do I tell?

Philippe, you do not have air suspension.
A. wrong car model.
B. you would know if you did.
C. ...or you would be asking us about the extra switch.

No problems with my airbags and winter so far... and that's including last year when winter was actually cold and involved snow, unlike this year.

Troy: I haven't seen you driving around Calgary I don't think. I thought I was the only one with a '31 in town!

Yeah this is my first one, I really can't complain though it's going to end up being cheap. I think when it's all said and done I'll be looking at $4000 total cost to Winnipeg. It's being sent in a container, we've got two cars right now just looking for a nice Pajero. My buddy bid on one last night so we're keeping our fingers crossed.

Fun times, good luck on filling the container and on the pajero.
