I'd really like to get my Soarer on the rollers to see what it is putting down, I may do that on my own but I thought I'd check if there was an interest and maybe organise a Soarer Dyno day this spring?

Well, not really a lot of other choices and they're used to the dyno day thing. Thinking of baseline's or tuning runs? |

I just got my Soarer a few weeks ago. Its bone stock and I'm looking for a baseline run.

I just spoke with Martin over there and he says he could accommodate between 5 and 10 cars with 3 pulls each, including a wide band o2 for approx $70.00 a head. Saturday afternoon kind of thing.
I'm sure in those 3 pulls you could do some small tuning on your own but I don't think they'd get involved in the tuning.

I'm organizing a spring dyno day for Soarer owners to get their toys out for a day on the rollers.
I'm hoping to have approx 5 to 10 confirmed slots for a Saturday afternoon in late May early June. Firm date, time, place and cost to be announced.

I just did a couple of runs on a New Dyno in Red Deer. I have some questions though. My ride came off the Dyno twice. The 1st time at 70km/h the 2nd time at 80km/h My car kept squatting the rearend down after I got over 70 km/h. My car is stock except rims and tires. We had to strap the back end down so low that the tires were rubbing a bit on the inside of the inner fenders. I only made a final pull of 164.8 WHP. The car is bone stock, only 66,000kms and in mont condition. Could this low WHP be on account that the tires were rubbing enough to generate smoke and burnt tire smell? or is it typical to loose 0ver 100HP through the drive train?

Dale, at this point I'm not going to disclose that information. I don't want to cause anyone any problems. This isn't my concern at this time. because my car kept slipping off the dyno sounds worse then it was, it only came off a few inches and it wasn't an issue where damage or safety was a concern. The straps didn't let go they just loosened as my car squatted down and as soon as I let off the gas, the back end came up and the straps tightened back up.
My concern is the WHP numbers.
What would a typical stock TT automatic soarer pull on a dyno if it is good shape?

Davin what have you done for maintenance since you got the car. After doing plugs and all fluids you should be sure that you're in good condition there. Also you might want to make sure you have no cracks in the coilpacks. That figure doesn't really sound right at all. |

I have changed all fluids. Plugs were supposedly done in Japan before I received the car. The previous owner left the maitenance log book in the glovebox and all required maitenenace had been done at regular intervals. I will have the plugs changed next month but I agree that somthing seems off. My car pulls very well. I had a situation where a Dodge DAkota v8 R/T was begging for heads up late at night at a traffic light and by the time I hit 70km/h (which was the posted speed limit I wasn't speeding) he was way behind me. I had him as soon as my turbos spooled. I'm sure I'm producing closer to 200whp.
i would like to come up to the Edmonton Dyno day, pleas let me know when a date is confirmed as my wife and I have a baby on the way and Ineed to work around that.

That's the Saturday of the May long weekend Dale? you aware of that? Might conflict for some people, I'd still likely be fine but I don't know about others. |
