Hey guys.
After getting the shock of my life from autobarn for these plugs ($22 each!)... I decided to do some hunting around.
Have got a supplier in the USA who can provide the same plugs for
AU$75set delivered for V8
AU$55set delivered for 6cyl
In order to avoid duties and taxes, I'm limited to how many I can get in a single order (but its a fairly high limit, so no need to stress about missing out)
If you're interested, please post name and yr model and engine type (also mention vvti if you have it)
Will look to start finalising orders in 2 weeks or sooner if I have the numbers... will advise if this becomes the case

yep.... probably the reason why there is no -11 at the end of the part number if you look above... and probably the reason why I asked people to list what year model theirs is so I could ensure the correct plug is ordered. Sorry for not making that clearer in previous posts |

I'm definitely interested if this can get organised and delivered fairly quickly ... I have a service coming up soon and was wanting to change spark plugs anyways, but if it drags out too long like other group buys then I'll need to pull out and just buy them at normal price.

I would recommend anyone with a 1JZ VVTI or not thats got an exuast and some boost ( ie NOt stock ) to run the 0.8mm gapped plugs . Or you can simply gap them down |

From what I've read I've noticed other members using lower gap sizes instead of 1.1, I dunno what this means but I'd like to stick with recommendations from the Goo Roos. What's involved with gapping them down?
Tim I've got a boost controller coming from Japan that I've just ordered so the plan was as soon as it arrives I'll be going in for the service so the mechanic can put in the boost controller at the same time. This may take about 2 weeks I'm guessing at the latest to be delivered. |

Mate, I'm looking to order once I have about 120plugs booked and paid for...
So far, have 24plugs booked (if I am reading it correctly) in the first 6hrs... so anything is possible... but I would be stupid to make guarantees, as it relies on everyone else |

We will be based around Brisbane until about the 22nd Sept when we leave for Sydney so pick up preferred, but we are in Aus until early October so can maybe organise posting south before we go.

Iain, its a Visa Debit Card account I use specifically for online purchases.
Makes it a bit harder to get stung by online fraud that way
Once payments are received and order is made with supplier, I will advise transit time and look to obtain individual delivery details.

Mark, I've been quoted approx a week for freight.
Obviously add ontop of that some time for me to then individually pack and post each order out through aussie post.
If I am given a shipment tracking number from the supplier, I will post it up so that people can veiw for themselves if they wish.

No probs at all Iain... as mentioned, some payments have come through with no reference on them (which is probably a bank issue)
We have 11 payments received and 13 who have said they have paid (2 of which on saturday, so allow time for those to clear)
So its all adding up so far. Like I said, lets just give it till wednesday or so... No need to panic just because a reference didnt come through |

James, for a setup like yours, you cant go past NKG BKR7E. These plugs are fine at 300rwkw and best of all can be had locally for about $20 for a set of 6.
My Iridium plugs ($120 locally) lasted 10,000km and the copper bkr7e's ($20)have lasted 15,000 km without any sign of them being bad. |

The order has been all been lodged, Supplier has advised that BKR6EIX plugs (1JZ Non-VVTI) are currently on Back Order from NGK, and are expected to arrive to the supplier next week.
Once they have arrived, the order will be shipped to us immediately.

They could... the plug is identical aside from the fact that the BKR6EIX is preset to a gap of 0.8mm, and the BKR6EIX-11 to a gap of 1.1mm.
You could gap them down yourself to suit if you so wished.
Given that everyone may not have access to gapping tools, I believed it best to order the plugs that were correct for their engines as specified by NGK (unless I was told otherwise by whomever wished to buy). |

Have sent a follow up email to the supplier just now asking if the backorder plugs have arrived... given they are a day behind us, I'm expecting it should all start moving our direction VERY soon.
However I will await their confirmation before making promises on their behalf.

Although, I'm after the NGK IRIWAY7's for a 1JZ, they are a 7 heat range gapped at .8mm, been quoted $33 per plug in Australia lol.

Guys... the news we've been waiting for... SENT TODAY!
Michael, again, sorry man... not really much I could do about it though unfortunately.
Given then recent rapid decline in the aussie dollar, I'm closing off the second buy now as well. There's been plenty of chance to express interest. I wont be doing any more group buys on these at the moment once this one is done.

Ok guys.
I'm laying the cards out on the table here.... so you can make the decision for yourself.
Aussie dollar has died in the arse as we all know... another 10c drop in a matter of a couple of weeks, and after I had already put the hand out for a few extra bucks on the second order to cover the drop at that stage.
When I did the first order, we were over 90c to the USD... by the time the order was actually processed we were down to about 85-87c... slight loss... no biggy... what I didnt factor ANZ offering a lower exchange rate than what was actually the going market rate as well as adding a 3% fee on top of the transaction... all good, was able to overcome it... next hurdle I found was australia post being so bloody expensive.
All up I ended up paying $140 extra out of my own pocket on the previous group buy... why didnt I speak up? Figured it was too late and just wanted to get if over and done with really.
And why am I mentioning this now?... because this is the first REAL chance I have had to actually sit down, do the figures, and work it all out properly.
Now, on this current group buy, we have a total kitty of $940 (assuming Glenn Muller and Andrew Keddie come in with payments). Total cost of the buy including freight (AUD after conversion) is going to be around $980 at the current exchange rate (I've been generous to allow for ANZ's greed (3% fee and lower exchange rate for transfer))... and thats before postage from me to each of you.
I have PM-ed each of you to direct you to this thread to read this... what I want to know is, do I proceed? Or do I issue refunds?
Ultimately, I would still consider the prices to be a bargain even if they were another $15 higher, but ultimately, that decision lies with you, the buyer.
I am sorry this has not been addressed sooner. I have had a combination of factors in play which have severely limited my personal time, and what little personal time I have had has pretty much been spent trying to catch up on lost rest just so that I can keep going. I dont mean to make excuses, I've made a commitment to do this, I just wish to keep you all in the loop.
Hopefully you can each put yourself in my situation, this is my own spare time I am donating to do this, I am not making money out of it (in fact losing by the last one), and its all happening at a ••••••• awful time in the money markets... I dont like having it all drag out any more than you do, but I'm playing the cards I am dealt as best I can and I am appreciative of your patience and understanding in the interim.
Anyways, I am happy to see this through, but yeah.... need your advice individually on which direction to take from herein.

Go ahead up to $1000 total spread across the group eg an extra $60 is nothing spread across the group. An extra $4-$5 each is not going to kill anyone and the AUD is climbing back up slowly anyway.......Originally My V8 plugs have gone from $75 to $80 and now maybe to $85....no problem just let me know when you want the extra Tim. UNLESS others pull out and cruel the deal, OK?? |

Hang in there Tim.......Get to the LPO as soon as possible before the next step in the chain happens(do they hold for 14 days?) and then "return to sender". I had a delivery go wrong a month ago where the driver firstly said my address did not exist, then said there were not a dozen bottles of fine wine to deliver in the first place....you are right....... pissed on wine A########s!!! |

If they are BKr6eIX they should be pregapped to 0.8mm. If your running higher boost ( ie 16+psi ) i normally run them at 0.7mm gap if you find they are still missfiring on higher boosted applications. |

I thought I should add:
On the V8 you don't need to take the airbox out to get the resonator/intake off as done on planetsoarer. You can yank the resonator off the intake, though it is tight, then compress the flexible pipe and wriggle it out. Everything else is pretty straightforward, it took about an hour and a half but I did spent a fair amount of time cleaning the covers.
To get the spark plug leads off (mine were really really tight) I wrapped some nylon cord around the meaty bit of the lead and used that to evenly pull the plug out so it didn't damage the cable part. |

However I would suggest scrolling up to the ebay link above and asking the seller if they can provide you with BKR5EIX-11 instead for the same price (as they suit your motor)... assuming they can get the stock, I cant imagine price being any different
