This is for a group buy from Christian Zimmer
Christian can get these units from Pioneer Australia for $460 + shipping.
Inc 12 months warranty.
The catch is we need multiples of 4 units to do this.
So I am looking to get 3 more buyers in addition to me so we can get one!

That's the american site though so its US dollars. About $540 AUS dollars. Its a nice head unit though and looks like a great fit. May be interested next month if this is still going. |

Yeah Ryan you're right. It's bluetooth ready and they don't tell you that it's $200+ for the bluetooth component. This is a steal at $460. Wish it wasn't silly season I'd be in for sure. |

Hmmm...I've been checking this unit out and I had a chat to my Pioneer contact...
I think I might even be in on this. I've got a double DIN DVD unit at the moment, but I'm loving the look of this thing. And its got bluetooth...not bad.
If you four guys are definates...I'll just get the guy to sell us a fifth one rather than a whole second box.

yeah im keen i got a DVD unit as well but it suck ••••• Id rather just a nice Audio system. You cant watch porn while your driving anywayz.

Keep in mind guys...prices everywhere are going up due to the exchange rate...
I have been told by Pioneer that they are doing everything possible to keep prices the same, but i can't be 100% sure that the price for this unit won't go up a little in the new year. I'm assuming because they already have this unit in stock in the Melb warehouse, that our batch should not be affected. Just dont kill me if it changes lol. |

If there are 3-4 guys who are good to pay now...we can place the order and you can have them by christmas.
The other guys are still free to place an order in Jan.
I'll need the money deposited before I can place an order (for obvious reasons). But yeh, like I said, if there is a few guys ready now, why dont we just go ahead and place our first order (at least then there is no risk of a price increase of Pioneer going out of stock.)
And to the guys who need to wait till Jan, don't worry, I will take care of you when you guys are ready to order. Even if we don't get another group of four, I'll be able to get you what you want.

Hi Guys,
I have PM'd my bank account details to the first group of people.
I have already received 1 payment. I need to receive the rest of the payments preferably by tomorrow to ensure I can get the headunits out to you by Christmas.
I'm still unsure about postage, so I have said to transfer an extra $30. Any differences I will let you know and either send you a refund or ask for the few extra bucks. But I think $30 should cover it.

Sorry guys, I leaving tonight to go overseas and I'm taking all your money with me! lol...just kidding. I don't think I would survive for long on $1600.
I received 3 units on friday...they were sent off yesterday for the first 3 guys who paid...Tim, Gary and Michael. Sent them registered post and insured them. Postage costed about $17 plus the insurance which was $6. Thats $23. So plus the boxes ect. make it $25. Anyway, whoever wants their $5 refund, send me your account details and I'll send it back to ya.
Marcus, I received your unit this morning. Will pack it up tonight and send it tomorrow.
The first three guys...due to the public holidays coming up, you probably won't receive your units till monday. Marcus, you will probably gets your on Tuesday or Wednesday.
I haven't installed mine yet...but I'm absolutely loving looking at the box everyday lol! Looks like my car is going back to mostly pioneer. Headunit, front and rear speakers all pioneer. Keeping the sub and amps Alpine though...absolutely love them. |

I'm absolutely loving mine!! Took me a little bit to fiddle with all the equaliser settings to get it to sound how I want...but damn...it sounds good. lol
The bluetooth kicks ass too. I never knew how much easier it makes life lol.
I got the lights all changed in my climate control unit to blue as well so it all matches and looks insane at night!
How bout you other guys...enjoying the unit? |

Hmm, well I'm going to replace my EMV system with this headunit and basically my plan is:
Remove EMV system (EMV screen, tape player, radio unit and dsp, tv unit, cd stacker), leaving in the speakers, amp, sub and sub amp.
Wire in a TT climate control unit (for air-con).
Wire new head-unit into dash. Run new cables from head-unit to amp and sub-amp in boot:
RCA cables for Front and Rear output (run to amp)
RCA cable for Sub output (run to sub-amp)
Wire from system control line to AMP wire in main and sub amp. (single line, split in boot to run to either amp).
Wire from mute wire to mute line of amp and sub-amp (maybe, if not will just wire mute line to v+)
Then cut the input wires on the main amp (FL,FR,RL,RR) and wire them into RCA connectors (connecting negative to signal ground wire).
Cut RU+ and RU- wires on sub amp. Not sure yet how to wire the sub amp in, am thinking about just running some sort of preamp first, still reading up about see (see this for more: http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/13208/113656.html ).
In theory, this is the easiest way to put a new headunit in without rewiring anything (just need to run cables from headunit to amp since existing cables run only from radio unit under backseat, not from dash).
If I'm wrong, hopefully someone will correct me before I blow anything up :p |

Some photos of mine, now I have the EMV removed and replaced with the TT climate control and the Pioneer unit. Still have to wire it up to the sub amp though, that's tomorrows job 
Also still trying to figure out how to mount the headunit itself, doesn't seem to fit into the existing bracket very well, guess I have to drill new holes

yeh probably, drilling holes in the brackets is a pretty easy job though, just make sure they are even/level on both sides or it will sit on a funny angle.
Good work on the EMV removal ! Do the plugs for the TT air con unit just hook straight up or did you have to do some cutting and splicing etc?
Keep us posted on how you go mate.
*** also - seeing as though you are drilling new holes you may be able to mount the headset a little more flush also (i think they tend to stick out a tiny bit) Can anyone else confirm this? |

Yeah, Its just sitting there at the moment holding on by two bolts that are close to lining up, I've still got to wire up the sub amp and run the wires under the carpet as well.
Climate control doesn't directly plug in, had to wire together the plugs from the TT climate control to the plugs from the EMV climate control unit (butchered it to get the plugs :p) to make a new loom, now its just plug and play.
I'll have to search for the thread on Ryan's install to see how he mounted it as well. |
