I've arranged a bulk discount on the soarer BFI intakes that are being sold on ebay.
http://www.planetsoarer.com/BFI3/bfi3.htm there is the planetsoarer thread explaining the BFI and the dyno tested results. it IS the most effective air intake ever tested and uses almost all stock parts. And enables you to use any standard or performance filter cartridge, for lexus SC, supra, soarer, etc..
The asking price is 85 US plus 30 US shipping to canada.. much higher to australia or wherever else.
I am doing this independently of soarer central, but i want to offer all of you around the world the opportunity to take part.
Courtesy of the Toyota Soarer Import Club of Western Canada. ;)
we have arranged pricing of 75 USD each kit, plus ACTUAL shipping (to my location) which will be anywhere from 5 to 10 dollars per unit. the more we buy, the lower the shipping cost per unit.
I will re-ship to australia, europe, america or wherever you are, and i have an excellent shipping facility.. and you will pay only actual shipping and material cost.
If you are in no rush, it can be very cheap..
If interested email me at mikeinedmonton@gmail.com or get me on facebook, michael thomas, you will find me as admin of the soarer owners lounge facebook group.
IF more people are interested than the 8 to 10 i allowed for, we will negotiate a lower price. i have 5 people from my local club on it now..
if i end up with 11 or more, i will try to get an extra 10 dollars per kit taken off.
Payment to be made via paypal or internet interac banking transfer (within canada).

Mike i think it's still better to modify the original Airbox. because the sucker thing goes right down under the light. and sucks from under the bumper.

and how wide is that? 30mm high and maybe 150mm long.. this has the full air box side behind the head, light pull it out for drags and perfect.. but hey it matter of opinion.. you are also restricted to the original air filter..there aint gonna be hot air in front of the radiator.. or the front of car, it all cold but anyway.. it just a option for you guys..

This air box is on my car as in pic's,It makes a noticable difference to performance and especialy to turbo noise (spooling and wastgate).Because of it's design no hot air from the engine bay is sucked into the induction system. The air flow area is roughly 4 - 5 times greater than original which comes directly from under the headlight. All pluses for performance and apperance.Bolts straight into car using existing mounting points. Â

There is also the issue of making a pipe from the turbo intake to the new air-box. The ebay item will make use of the standard mounts/piping and not having to make expensive tubing to fit is a bonus.
Keen, yeah the intake hole isnt all that large. But still worth it. Also you can replace the original air filter with aftermarket high performance onces.

Black is Not that Expensive.... Get them from KKR champ !
Lookin at $56 each black section of silicone. Remember though, these are meant for the boosted side, so are much stronger than the nasty cheapo silicone out there.

Yeah i know they 56 each. but i was only charging 25 bend, so they have double that why i had to up price to factor the black in. i can get blue easy from a local shop..and they meant for boosted side as well. so yeah it all cool mate, but thanks for info

Ill be making a prototype very soon within the next 4 weeks. Will be a enclosed box with at least one external airduct. Will be made to suit a Apexi powerintake pod filter. If all goes well and it doesnt take too much time to make additional units ill be able to offer them to members. Should be a lot faster to make one i have one made up to use as a template.

I'm currently running a big 90mm pod filter in factory airbox, then run 90mm hose to std 80 mm pipe. and cost $ 35. It basically looks std, and in my opinion works as good if not better than anything aftermarket.
All you have to do is cut back of airbox, to fit appropriate pipe or hose through.
