Hey Guys,

I'm in the market for a T04Z or a GTX4294 or GTX4202 etc and I as thinking of getting a group buy together across a few forums to get a good price before the exchange rate drops and prices get boosted. The turbos will be bought from a local supplier, WITH Australian Warranties. Therefore any turbos in stock, can be sent out quite quickly to your door. Any issue with warranty? Garrett AUSTRALIA will handle it. No grey imports, no hassles, full 12 month warranty.

Copy and paste and add you name to the list below to express your interest. If I can get around 4-5 turbos mix and matched, then we're in business and can probably have them delivered ASAP.

Turbo Group Buy
1. Costa Tsimiklis (T04Z OR GTX4294R OR GTX4202R)
2.
3.
4.
5.
etc

Here's some preliminary pricing based on a mix/match lineup of turbos. The more that is bought, the more the discount :-):

Upload

Garrett T04Z - $2050 Delivered (RRP: over $2230 w/Delivery)

Upload

Garrett T51R - $2650 Delivered (RRP: $3230 Delivered)

Upload

GTX Range, - TBA but around $2950 or so Delivered. They are still quite new and very expensive to buy (over $3150 retail).

GT30 and GT35 (Great for a street soarer) price on application, but I would suggest they would be around this price:

Upload

GT3082R - ~$1550 Delivered (RRP around $1780 Delivered)

Upload

GT3582R - ~$1550 Delivered (RRP around $1780 Delivered)

GT3076

Upload

T04Z w/Vband

Upload

GTXR Info - Basically 10-13% more than its GT equivalent, but less lag and better spool thanks to a new 11 blade single stage billet wheel.

Add your name to the list and I'll get a collective quote that will under retail, delivered to your door :-)

Costa,

I take it this is a short term project? You want to get it done quickly?

As you know I am in the research stage for something for the track car and was hoping to put something together for next year. If this stretches out over a bit of time I'll get involved, but if we are talking end of the month type deal I can't.

Hey ben, should be able to do a few rounds of buys in the coming months. Whar turbo are you looking at installing? Track only, drag or a bit of both?

I don't want to dirty up your group buy thread...as I said I am still looking into it. In an ideal world it would have the factory response with more torque, more power, more everything. I don't want the power to come in a big hit as that will just stress the driveline and be hard to drive. In my "design me an engine combo.." thread there have been some suggestions, and I have been thinking about one of the Garret GT series turbos.

Purely circuit work. Has to work with the standard gear ratios (R154) and Torsen LSD(AO2B). Needs to be on boost by 3000 RPM to give me some revs to work with as I don't want to have to build a motor from scratch.

GT3076, 0.8x housing with an external gate would be an ideal turbo for you. 3082 or 3582 would also be good but will come on full boost at around 3750 or so depending on your setup and exhaust housing choice. The 3082 may have some compressor surge issues at low RPM with a small housing so running a 0.8x housing would be good, but the throttle response may not be as good as the 3076 due to the larger GT35 comp wheel.

Combined with a merge collector manifold, Cams, Gears and so forth, you should have full boost by around 3250 and make around 300-330rwkw on pump fuel at safe boost levels.

For response and less lag, you cannot go past a Garrett GT Ball Bearing Turbo.

I know the GT35 spools up nice and quickly on a 2JZ. If I had a 1J, i'd probably go for a GT30. Something not too laggy and nice and responsive would be where I'd be heading if I had a 1/2JZ and were going single.

Funny. Garret recommended the same turbo. Might be the go then. I cannot possibly do it in the short term. We want to buy a house. With a BIIIIG shed.
