Hey Guys, I have installed the sway bar set that I got for myself to ensure that this batch was a bolt on a affair. WHAT A @#(*& Difference GOOD swaybars make! Stock Swaybars: 2-3mm thick hollow spring steel tube with hardly any stiffness! Front Weighs around 2-3kg and rear weighs around 1kg! Whiteline Adjustable Swaybars, SOLID SPRING STEEL, Front is around 10+kg and rear around 8kg! I knew swaybars made a difference, but I did not expect to go through my usual street course corners at 10-15km more than I would on my first go with little or no effort! The directness is awesome and the body roll has been reduced by at least 2x-3x more. In addition, Its a way stiffer ride around corners, but there is no sacrifice to everyday driving over bumps - in fact it feels smoother and more settled on the road. The cornering feeling feels like I have slicks on instead of average road tyres and the car communicates a bit more directly as to if there is any slip angle. Before, even with my coilovers, the tyres would complain and it felt like the sidewalls were being overloaded during some heavy corners due to the body roll. With the Swaybars, it feels like the entire tyre is load sharing and the body roll is very manageable. It really does stick to the road a whole lot better. I have backed off my damping settings by 30% due to the extra cornering stiffness the swaybars gave me. This equals a smoother every day ride with better road holding and more comfort, with perfect tracking through the corners when needed! I am upgrading each suspension system, one part at a time to detect the difference each mod makes. By far Swaybars are my TOP 2 best mods ever to be done on the soarer for handling. at ~$520 Delivered, even with stock springs and clapped out stock suspension, you will notice a huge difference in handling performance! So much so, I am thinking of getting another set on the next GB for the drag car as I need a soft spring setup to launch, but i hate how floaty it is in the corners. I think the sway bars will improve this dramatically! Second to installing my D-Project coil overs, this is the BEST suspension mod I have done to the Soarer. I'm in love with the way the car handles again! I think it might be time to organise another hills cruise Freight is being picked up tomorrow morning. Delivery to NSW/SA Metro is 1-2 working days (Tuesday/Wednesday) QLD 3-4 working days (Thursday/Friday). Thus, you have the weekend to install your super duper swaybars that will blow your mind as to how well the car handles with this mod! Please let me know how the car feels with the swaybar mod!

Sounds like Mr Costa has a bar on about his bars on! I did say they where a good thing easy to fit, I only needed to drop one rear muffler for the rear bar and hold back a bit of the front under tray plastics, a job that requires a mate but no real special skills

Basic hand tools required. If you have a custom 1 piece catback exhaust, I would recommend dropping the whole exhaust to easily fit the rear sway bar. 10mm, 12mm, 14mm sockets/spanners required screw drivers etc for the front plastics. Tip: You must install the sway bars with the whole axle off the ground, ie: both front or rear wheels must be up and in the air at the same time - otherwise the sway bar will be torqued and be hard to get off / dangerous. Helps if you remove the wheels too Rear Swaybar links are kept - Front sway bar links are changed to the Whiteline ones. The stiffest setting is the shortest setting on the sway bar. Start with this setting - you will not be upset! Both Front/Rear together at their max stiffness = neutral and balanced from my driving experience. I have installed pics and before/after pics, just need to transfer the pics from the flash card to the pc and upload to SC's format.

Hey Guys, I'm not sure what went wrong - I fitted my kit out of the packet and assumed that everything else was OK as they were unopened? If there is a problem, Whiteline stuffed up their delivery as they came directly from whiteline. Can you guys post a photo up of exactly what is wrong? Do the links look like mine in the photos?

Ok WICKED! Swaybar swap over will really FML! Looks like someone with a MA60 will also be in for a suprise lol! I'll get you guys sorted out ASAP and then wait for matt's report regarding the swaybar + link situation. I've emailed everything to the supplier to get it all sorted out. I will report to this thread with any updates. Fingers crossed they can read a part number and send the correct ones this time!

No drilling for me Everything went so smooth.... kinda feel like crap now for not randomly selecting the one that has link issues. As a precaution, I am assuming that Matt has received the wrong set. I have requested that whiteline send the replacement parts directly to you guys, and a return satchel for the incorrect parts so no one is out of pocket. When you have stupid part numbers that DO NOT mean anything and have the same numbers swapped around - things are bound to go wrong. There should be a chassis prefix to stop this from happening, eg: JZA80-TF67Z MA61-TF76Z I always put the make and chassis code in the part numbers on my stock to minimize interpretation errors. You'll also notice that most manufactures have a PN prefix that is part of a system, eg: gearbox, powertrain, interior - then a part number that goes with the family and then the sequence number of that part. Common business sense! Toyota have it down pat!

Well, the front bar is on and I'm very happy with the results - much more responsive up front and more stable in the back. I have mine on the middle/soft settings. Was thinking of going coil-overs previously but now I'm not so sure... the car now has the response I was after. Would like to go a little lower in the front but ground clearance is more important to me than aesthetics. Before the car used to torch the inside tyre when powering out of corners due to the body roll unloading the inside tyre - not any more!!! BTW - the un-used links from the incorrect kit replace the standard rear links perfectly - they can stay there until Whiteline sends me a pre-paid satchel to send them back

Lol cam, bonus! Amazing how much of a difference it has made hey?! Did you have a go at the hard setting? It's pretty stable through corners and everything is just tight, no body roll and very smooth even on poor tyres. The benefit of running swaybars with coilovers is that you can choose 2-3kg lighter spring rates and back off the damping without compromising the cornering of the street or in the hills. This means a better handling car and more streetable due to the lighter spring rates.

Costa, I will probably try out the harder settings over the next week - will definately crank them up a notch on the next cruise (if its not pissing down rain) but for the daily drive I am really happy with the current settings.
