You're not answering my question Scott. If you wanted a photo of my left nut I could have it posted up here in less than five minutes and I'm no where near a laptop. Why can't these guys do the same? (with the kit ofcourse, not their nuts haha).

Guys get professional here...
The group buy has been going on now for over 1 year, and we have had very few updates of the progress of the kit. To be honest we have probably only had 2 major updates:

1. That the kit had been purchased and arrived into Australia.
2. That the mould has been made, and that the kits are beginning to be made.

They are the only two major updates that we have had to date. You are saying that some kits are now out of the mould and are having the finishing touches made to them. Why is it that we have no photos of the kits that have been produced. Does this company operate so far from you guys, everything about it seems to be a mystery?

You are asking people to pay $1500 for a kit which they have seen very little progress on, which we have no information of the company producing it and are now being told that they are going to hold back production of the kits if all of the payments are not made. Put a little logic behind it, they want the remaining money in order to complete the kits and you guys are asking for the money from those remaining when they have not been constantly updated, and have been waiting for over 1 year for the kit to be completed - BIG DOUBT CREATOR. Provide weekly updates, provide some photos, provide the company's name making the kits, and I can guarantee you that the others will part with the cash. If I didn't have the cash spare I probably would have held off as well, but in trying to do the right thing for the rest of the group buy I bit the bullet and paid my costs.

Scott - I'm in Victoria but I'm willing to fly over myself and visit the shop to check on progress and take some photos. Post their name and address.

And whats the go with the original shine kit that was used for the mould?
Looks like its already been sprayed gloss black, is it already fitted to a black Soarer?

As previously stated, i have had no contact with the shop as that is why i wanted to go down to see them myself. I don't know the name of the place but it is over an hour away from where i live. So by the time i finish work and get down there they would be long closed.

Yes i agree Sebastian, more pics would be really nice (please none of your left nut lol) and i don't know why the shop couldn't take any. But they gave Dave some BS about privacy in their workshop.

Either way when i'm there i will take photos with or without their permission. And definitely going to give them a kick up the bum to get this going again, as i for one am tired of waiting.

Rob, that kit sprayed black was the original kit just before it went into the mould, they do this so the mould comes apart easier. The black car was Daves car, used for the test fitting. As far as i know the original kit cannot be used once put into a mould as when it gets removed it usually gets damaged. But not 100% on that.

I was very interested in this group buy after all the teething issues were sorted out, but i am VERY happy not to be involved.

- First deposits made over 12 months ago, and all of a sudden there's a rush so there's no more delays??
- Lots of excuses for delays in updates/information
- Payments (from updates) of approximately $17500 and waiting on $6500 before ANY get released, even though they would definitely be able to sell them.
- Demands for remaining payments, even though organiser hasn't logged in since 28th July.
- No information on final fitment after moulding
- No company information

Doesn't paint a rosy picture while holding a lot of other people's money for a long time.

Hope it all works out in the end.

Scott - why can't you give us the name and address of the place? As I said in my last post, I am willing to fly to SA and check it out for everyone...I think that is a pretty generous offer that will save you a one hour drive and give everyone the update they want. All this f**king around has scared other potential buyers off, like Chris above. Lets get it sorted once and for all.

Ok so i will give a very quick run down of updates.

-Well in the beginning it was, who was interested which took time.
-Then retainers were asked for, this took months as people were not paying so nothing was done of the organising during this stage.
-Once retainers were paid the shine kit was eventually organised and freight was arranged.
-Shipping and customs took a long time to be sorted out and cleared in Australia.
-There was issues with getting a test fit car, my soarer was the original one to be used but could not get home to change cars and then get to the shop.
-Dave eventually worked out ways to use his daily car for the test fitment.
-Changes and a perfect fitment was made by making a lot of changes to get them 100%
-The kit was sprayed black and put in for a mould to be made.
-Once mould was made it had to take some time to cure so it didn't warp or stress.
-Mould was cut down to remove all excess glass to be ready for the kits to be copied.
-Kits started being produced and cut off excess glass.
-Here we are now running closer to the final product and need the remaining funds to clear our name for the shop to finish our order.

Yes i agree with everyone saying it has taken a very long time. I was on the very original group buy when it was for vertex copy kits so i have been waiting longer for a kit than most others on this buy.

As previously said Dave cannot access the net often, hence why i have been making updates when ever i know more.

We are on the final stretch now, i hopefully will get down to the shop next week to find out more answers for you all.
Any questions you want answered let me know and i'll find out if i can.

I know this has not been easy for anyone here, but remember my money is in with this too so i'm still at risk, but i trust David and the work he has done in the past.

One of the main selling points of this group buy for me was the fact that we could get replacement parts in the event of our original kit being damaged. Why then has this group buy been going for around a year and no one but David actually has contact details of the workshop that would be making the replacement parts?

David, this question has been asked many times and you keep skipping past it.

WHAT IS THE NAME AND CONTACT DETAILS OF THE
WORKSHOP WITH ALL OUR MONEY???

Please don't expect any more money from me until WE receive these details.

David can you put up a list of people who still havent paid their full ammount! Even though its taken this long guys it would be a big part of davids time running around organising this thing and yes things could have been done better at times but i don't see anyone offering to pay for davids time that hees sacrificed to do this for all of us! we all want our bloody kits but delaying this anymore guys isn't going to acheive anything!

make a deadline for payments and if you havent paid by then you get your refund and thats it!

Thats my 2 cents anyway!

You can have your 2c Peter, what I want is to make sure I'm going to get my $1500+ worth.

David, I have two jobs and find myself working 16 hours a day quite often and I still have the time to post on here all the time either be from my phone or on the net. You say you're at uni a lot. From my understanding just about every uni provides free wi-fi and Internet access. I don't believe that you don't have the time to post it, I think you don't want us to have this information which is very worrying to me.

Peter, you can post your thoughts all you want but I don't think another cent is going into this group buy until these issues are sorted.

WHO has all the money??? David or Shop??? If the shop has $17,500 there is no way they would stop production of these kits.
I am yet to pay my remaining $1150, but i would like to see pictures of one complete fitted kit. Not the modified Shine kit. The pictures above look very scatty.

Clayton mate i think your asking for abit much when you say you want to see a complete kit fitted and all! a complete kit yes i agree but why fitted? and what if no one has the funds to fit it atm? i mean sure david could get one of the finished products as there is apparently 3 finished kits but why would he have to fit it on his car before you would pay the remainder? pics of the finished product would be sufficient mate lets not get our undies in a knot the above photos do show how good the product will be looking at those pics with the white kit i have very high hopes for this and so should you!}

Wrong peter. The reason why we went with this mob is because they were to fix all the defects. The only way to prove that is to show it fitted. If it doesn't line up we get our money back and we all go and buy shine kits for the same price.

I'de have to disagree mate! if you want to wait untill david goes and sprays and installs a kit onto his car i think thats asking for too much! if buying a shine kit is the same price as this group buy why dont you just buy one straight from them and save urself all this hassle? again i stress no one is payniing david for his time so holding up the group buy by saying you wont pay any money until you see a finished fitted kit is just a time waster mate like i said your better off ordering your own shine kit and have it sent direct to your door! Even then you wont know the condition of the kit when it gets sent from the us and if it will have any problems but you can hardly say that going through this group buy has been a time waste or a rip off or anything like that because you have to remember for the same price as the shine kit deletes most (if not all the flaws of the kit) and having 1 guy organise the whole thing who has uni at the same time and lives by himself and work ontop of that and is getting nothing in return except a kit for himself who he is paying for! I agree david should post the details of the mob up here so if any one wants to contact them go for it but i've known plenty of group buys david has done and hee's allways pulled through and not ripped any one off! }

I think you need to read the thread from the beginning Peter. The reason why we went with these guys is because of GUARANTEED fitment. So far I haven't seen anything to guarantee fitment.

As far as David working/studying too much to update everyone I don't buy that. I run a business by day and have a job at night and find myself working 80+ hours a week and still find time to post on sc either from home, work or on my phone so there shouldn't be any excuses. I think the problem is davids updates are unnecessarily long when all we really need is some contact details so someone can touch base with the company with all our money and reassure people that everything is above board.

Also, I do understand that for this group buy to go ahead David would have put a tonne of work in and I do appreciate it. That's why I have paid for a percentage of his kit, a percentage that had we have got 30 people would cover his kit. I don't think David should be paying a cent for his kit and if this group buy does go through with only fifteen people I will be paying more to make the difference up for having reduced numbers. I have also told him that he can have a fuel filter i paid $100 for, for nothing. So far no one
else has not shown any intention of doing the same but I guess that's a personal choice.

Please understand that I'm not trying to slow this group buy down. I'm just voicing my opinion on what needs to happen for us to move forward and judging by other peoples actions I think others are on the same wave length as me.

We need to know what exactly is going on.

Does David or the workshop have our money?

What are the contact details of the workshop?

Can we some sort of guarantee of proper fitment?

Until these questions are answered I don't see this going ahead any further. I may be wrong ofcourse but I doubt it.

Sebastian, I've paid up my $1500, but I think your first three questions are fair enough and hopefully can be, and will be quickly answered. I'm not sure however how fitment of a body kit can be guaranteed on a 20 year old car. What fits 100% on my car might not fit 100% on your car. Can I guarantee my car is straight? Not really. Has it ever been in an accident? Well, not as far as I know. Did all panels fit 100% from the factory or did they have to be adjusted during assembly to get the panel gaps right? Who knows.

I bought carmats in a groupbuy from David last year. That was a great transaction but a body kit is of course much different to carmats. I suspect that this groupbuy turned out a whole lot more challenging than David ever imagined when he set out. My inclination however is to believe that he is a fair dinkum member and things will be OK in the end. The lack of regular communication is very frustrating though. Hopefully Scott can chase things up ASAP for all concerned.

yeh i agree with both your opinions boys i'de just hate to see an argument brake out between david and everyone in the group buy because that would just make things sour for everyone for any future buys or even personal views towards one another! I've paid the full $1500 also, and I agree with Sebastian's points. I don't think anyone is suggesting the kit will fit 100%, but we should expect things like gaps (around the headlights and fog lights) to be almost perfect, and other general fitment issues to be sorted.

I was also part of David's floor mat group buy and was very happy. However, handing over $110 for mats is very different to handing over $1500+. The total amount of this group buy is close to $20k...for that sort of money we should have INFORMATIVE and REGULAR updates.

One sentence saying "There has been no progress this week" is more informative than 4 weeks of silence. I work in a University and I can tell you there is NO university across the country that does not provide internet access. McDonald's provides free WiFi. Every second cafe in Melbourne provides free WiFi. Every major shopping centre has coin-operated internet access. Despite all the jokes about Adelaide, I can't believe it is so far behind other capitals that accessing the internet is such a problem.

David - you've got to understand that there are a dozen people here who want to see you succeed with this group buy. The last thing we all want to be doing is getting on here and leaving unpleasant messages. Regular updates with some transparency (for example, the contact details of the shop) will keep everyone happy.

So there is no more BS excuses why david cant keep people up to date, why doesn't everyone in the group buy throw in $30 each to buy David a 3G phone with Internet access and $50.00 credit so he can make some updates.

David is in the process of getting a new phone which will have net access.

Ok guys basically the shop cant make anymore kits until the remaining is paid, so the kits can be shipped out. There is limited storage left there and only has space for our 3 all ready made kits. Once the remaining has been paid the kits will be released and the production can continue as the kits will be made at a steady pace and can be organised for delivery as soon as they are ready so they wont be sitting around.

This is why the place is holding back on the production of the kits, as storage space is low.

Yes the kits have been altered to make a near perfect fit for our cars. In saying that no car will ever be the same. No one can say that 100% their car has never been in any kind of accident.

I think it is unrealistic to expect a kit to be fitted before payment is completed. If no one has funds or time to get the kit fitted, it could take months for anything else to happen if some people hold off for this reason.

The pictures of the kits in grey above are the 3 made kits, not the altered shine kit. You can see the kits have been made and not messing us around like some people may think. This was just before the final cutting down on the glass was done to have them ready for shipping.

The shop is chasing down the remaining money now so when it comes down for the last kit to be made and ready to be sent they are not still chasing up overdue funds.

At this stage i am heading down with David to the shop on monday arvo to see the progress. Will see what is happening and how the kits look.

Please guys, this buy has been going for a long time and we don't want any harsh blood in the final run. In the end we will all have an awesome and rare kit for our beloved cars.

Out of all the group buys David has run before, has anyone ever been ripped off? or did he do a runner?.... NO and NO. He has done so much for this club by organising all this himself and taking on so much work without receiving any contributions for his work.

Thank you

Well if they are short on space why don't they send the kits out to those that have paid in full as they are completed as I am doing with the bonnet group buy, which was started a couple of weeks ago and the first bonnet is being shipped this week.

Where on Earth do you have to pay in full for something that is not complete????
Even when building a house they are paid as each stage is completed, if you paid up front I don't think there would be a completed house in the country.
I guess the unfortunate thing is that David does not feel the need or responsibility to address the concerns of all involved in this group buy.
24 hours in a day and can't be bothered to take 5 minutes out to keep everyone up to date.
What a joke?
I seriously hope the Mods of this forum think twice about allowing David to run another group buy.

I agree with Rob, I don't understand why the shop wont move ahead with production.

Why not just pay for the 3 that are complete and ship them out, you should still be able to cover the following three from the funds you have. Yes I understand payment has to be made to David but I dont see why the shop would expect to take the whole $24,000 before continuing production, if this is the case it seems very unreasonable considering your giving them $24k business.

I trust David from previous group buys and have paid my $1500 a long time ago and want this to move ahead. I think a little more communication to the shop and here would prevent the hold up's and doubts.

Rob, it would seem obvious to me that the company has quoted a price per kit based on a fixed number of kits, and have spread the considerable cost of modifying the original kit and making a set of moulds over that number of kits. If the number of orders drops then the the cost of making the mould is not covered and they are out of pocket. It would seem reasonable to me that the company needs to be assured that all orders will be filled before proceeding to release kits.

I'm not familiar with your groupbuy, and am not sure if it involved the making of a mould, or if they they are just being made from an existing mould. If so, this would be a quite a different scenario.

It is encouraging to see that David and Scott are visiting the shop together on Monday. Hopefully an informative update will pull in the outstanding orders and the first three kits can be released. I for one look forward to what looks like an excellent and long awaited product.

Then the obvious question (again) is who has the money...the shop or David? And what is the contractual arrangement that is in place with the shop?

Scott - if David has the time to update you, why can't he log in at Uni and do the rest of us the same courtesy?

Something bad happening is highly unlikely due to Davids past group buys and track record, lets have a little faith in people.

As mentioned before Dave and i went down the shop Monday arvo and had a chat and looked over the kits.

They were finishing off the 4th kit as we turned up, so they are still making kits, but at a slowed pass due to space in the shop.

The mould looks like a lot of work has been done to it and is all different pieces all bolted together, looks complicated.

Looking at the kits all done, we went over the changes and the flaws which were fixed and there was a fair amount of work done to get them the way they are now.

The shop has said the kits MUST be professionally fitted to ensure correct fitment. As each car will be a little different, there have been tolerances added on a few areas and can easily be sanded down if needed, also the mounting holes are not drilled through but there are guides as to where they should be and can be adjusted to each individual car.

The completed kits look great, they look nice and smooth and are nice and strong.

I now have the first kit made at home and over the next few weeks will get it fitted as time permits.

I took a few pics while there, along with the kit bubble wrapped and in my trailer and some more at home. Will take some more angles of the kit over the weekend.

Hey great pics Scott, the kit looks really impressive!!
So with 10 buyers who have fully paid (plus delivery) and 6 buyers with deposits down, what is the delivery plan from here? Are the other three finished kits paid for and available for delivery? What time frames are we looking at for new batches? The more info re a projected delivery plan you can give the better, and will hopefully pull in outstanding payments, (and maybe some additional orders for the shop).
