David has phone issues at the moment, trying to sort them out. But that means i cannot contact him as often as i would like in regards to these questions (ie email only). He mentioned about getting to his mums on Friday if he can to get on the net and reply to people.

As for delivery time of the kits, i am not aware if David has sent out freight quotes to everyone or not yet. Pretty much from what i know once 3 kits are completed, they will be bubble wrapped and sent together. As we have to wrap the kits ourselves to save money, we will wait for 3 kits, not going back after 1 kit is finished.

Anyway hopefully Friday should see some more answers and more photos on the weekend.

Looks Good!

Just a tip, wrap all sharp corners in cardboard to prevent impact chipping/damage to the gelcoat and glass during freight. You can use the free cardboard at Bunnings.

You may be also able to fit the rear in to the front bar and secure it for transport and send the skirts as a secondary consignment to save on freight costs with e-go.com.au

This is what I don't get Scott. So many excuses as to why David can't get on the net when you can buy a samsung touch screen phone similar to an iphone from the post office for $100! Plus, judging by the fact that David has 2, yes 2 late model soarers I'm sure he can afford a pre paid phone.

And still the question remains,

Looking awesome guys, I guess that if they are working on the 4th kit now, then it shouldn't be long before the first batch is sent?

Also Scott, what is the go with the grills we ordered a while back, are they going to be sent with the kit?

I guess we all need confirmation from David in regards to shipping costs as well.

Thanks for the update...I think it is one that everyone has been waiting for.

Costa, Yes we planned to have the rear inside the front bar when posted to give it more strength and cheaper freight. Not sure how long it would take to wrap each kit. When we wrapped mine it was just a rough test to see how long and it was around 20-30 minutes, without any cardboard protection. But yes that is a great idea with the corners Costa.

Sebastian, its not my problem that Dave cant get on the net, he has his reasons and i don't really care to be honest, the hours he is working and combined with uni, i can't see how he manages to have any time at all to relax let alone get on the net. I have heard enough winging about Dave not being here to update.... but look what i am doing. I am not even the one organising this group buy. I'm just happy to help out as i was a part of the vertex group buy which Dave organised where we both got stuffed around and which left me with no kit. So i have been helping out where i can with this group buy to see it succeed.
If i didn't have the net at home i would have no access to the net at all. My phone does not have net access and i work full time.
As for the details of the shop, i will let Dave explain why they cannot be posted on here. I do not know the exact reasons so will let Dave say why. I think it was to do with legal reasons as well as part of the original condition in the pricing, the prices were kept low on the condition that David would deal with all the BS and customers. But i'm sure Dave will explain soon.

Fabian, Yes the grilles will be sent out with the kits. I have them all here with me and need to drop them off once the first 3 kits are all ready to wrap for shipping.

Hopefully Dave can get on here soon and shine some more light on the finer details and shipping info.

I'm not having a go at you Scott, I just want some feedback from the person who is organising this group buy but it seems as though that is to much to ask.

I'm just asking for David to take five minutes to answer my questions. If David is to busy to answer them now, what chance are we going to have of getting a response from him say in the event we need a replacement part?
When are we going to get a final price?
Why don't we know what workshop we are dealing with?

David has put a lot of time and effort into this and now all I need is a short response to the unanswered questions.

Here are some more photos of the front bar. Will try get to the other parts today.

Fog lights and grille test fit.

In fitting the grille the side tabs on the kit had to be trimmed back so the grille could fit right in. You can see what needs to be done in the pics.

Hope this wets your lips enough to want more :-)

Ok freight is almost sorted. Should have quotes and it all set up by Friday. Then thats the last thing done. Umm as im working tomorrow instead of Friday it means ill post up freight prices when i get them/if i get them Friday. Ill go through posts and emails and get replies out Friday and Saturday until they are all done.

Records show that we still need final payments from the following
-Sami Ansari ($900 paid)
-Fabian Bordon (my records show $350 paid, if this is wrong let me know and ill look again)
-Clayton Carlyle (again thought you were paid off in my mind but bank records show only $350 paid?, if incorrect let me know)
-Sebastian grant ($350 paid)
Anaru Raugiheua ($200 paid)

Still busting my arse to get the cheapest stuff for everyone. Got a few places in the US and UK with better prices but they arent replying to me and havent after multiple attempts. Currently the best prices i have gotten for stuff is below. Ive busted my arse so that it could be sorted for people and sent with their kit thereby saving them more in postage.

Door moulds $216.81 each (need two)
97+ new headlights $404.91 each
97+ fog lights $303.93
97+ tail lights $366.30 each

Ill see how much i can do tomorrow posting on here, my schedule is
6am-2pm work
2pm-8.30pm lab experiment at uni
10pmish get home
10pmish onwards possibly post some stuff otherwise i might wind down and get some sleep so i can get an early start on it Friday morning before uni.

More photos added of the kit on a car.

The shop was impressed with the rear and front fitment, pretty much spot on just need some parts sanded back and will be a great fit.

The sides need more work to fit, but still impressed with them as they are straight and only a bit thick on one end. So really just needs to be shaved back on the front ends as there is a large bulge which prevents it from getting closer to the body.

i dont want to stir anything up but that "shop" really needs to do a clean up!!! looks like a dumping ground. they would be alot more efficient with making everyones kits.

it took a month for me to have my vertex kit made in japan and shipped out to australia and courier from qld to my door

that said the kit does look alot better than alot of kits i have seen made in aus i just hope they dont crack easily and fit perfect for everyone involved.
good to see the kits are almost done...

Ok quick few things as i gotta get up at 5am to be at work at 6am.

Firstly was suppose to get pics of a paint and fitted kit today. Kit has been painted but not fitted so ill get pics up hopefully Monday if thats when it is put on. Only same is that its a 1991, wont have a grill, wont have foggies, wont have the door moulds. I saw the fitment on it during the trial fit as this was the first copy to be actually fitted on a Soarer. Fitment was spot on, exactly the same fitment as my black Soarer used as the test car. So every kit will be exactly the same as the photos i posted up after all the alterations. Thus there was no mucking about with the kit, straight on fitment so NO ONE should have problems unless your car has had a prior prang or you cheap out on who fits it. Please do not fit the kit yourself and get it fitted by a pro so there is no dramas.

So yeah pics on Monday if fitted.

Now i got the quote which is good and bad and ive been running ideas the last two days on how to fix it. I believe i have a solution but need to wait till Monday to make some calls. There are two possible solutions to the problem and once i know all the ins and outs ill be able to make an informed decision on the best option. Anyway here are the freight quotes that we got which include $2000 damage waiver and delivery to your door. Ill have to get the guy im in contact with to run some numbers and also get quotes for depots. Im happy to use these guys as i have used them about a year ago and had no problems. Also ill get my mate in the automotive industry what freight companies he uses and see how i go on Monday price wise. Anyway here they are.

Gavin Cox- $197.42
Joshua Rao- $273.02
Kevin Trac- $250.06
Murray Lund- $530.03 (this is absolutely fckued considering your in VIC, ill be asking if this was a mistake, if not then i have come up with solutions for this very problem and get it to you at half the price hopefully)
Peter Angelopoulos- $197.42
Adam Underwood-$197.42
Robert Faggian- $197.42
Paul Mainey-$727.15 (again this is fckued and you and Murray are the reason why ive been figuring out potential solutions the last two days, hopefully on Monday i can get an explanation but i have a feeling its to do with how far a courier has to drive to get it to you, again with the solutions ive come up with you should only have to pay around $250ish)
Scott Wilkes- $512.67 (thats for a full kit Scott so i know your after just a front bar meaning it would be cheaper and roughly around $200, can you find out how much your freight for your kit was and through who as ill investigate cheaper options for anyone in the future in TAS)
Michael Lucas- $197.42 (pretty sure your off the groupbuy and i think Josh has taken your place but there is the price anyway)
Anaru Rangiheuea-$273.02
Sebastian Grant-$250.06
Clayton Carlyle-Ill have to get back to you Monday as the guy missed your quote but going by the other people in NSW and your location it will be around $250 on the dot.

Dont know why but WA people are getting a cheap sweet deal for freight whilst people far from Metro areas in VIC and NSW have stupidly high costs. I think everyones quote is sweet besides Murray and Paul. I mean yeah probably across the board we could probably find someone $15-$20 bucks cheaper but i want these out to people, no point holding things up over a few bucks and the main thing is that $2000 covers the kits and freight costs if something were to happen but they have been good and no dramas so im happy to stick with them. The main sticking point is Paul and Murray and as a group i need to make sure we are all covered. In reality Paul's and Murray's especially are so high that it could be a deal breaker. I could be wrong so let me know Paul and Murray but im 99% sure they are on the same wavelength with me in saying that prices isnt gonna be paid by them and thus they are without a solution currently of how to get their kits.

Anyway im interested in hearing in what Paul and Murray have to say. That and tomorrow and Monday ill be getting those emails and posts out of the way, getting pics if the kit is on the car, and sussing out the solutions ive come up with and their viability. Stay posted over the coming 2 days.

Cheers

Legend! Good on ya. Im sweet with paying my freight as soon as you like? Just to confirm, yes I have bought Michaels kit off him so he no longer will need any info.

Also your above price of $303.93 for 97 foglights, was that for one or two? If two i'll take that as well.

When and how can I pay for these extra's. When do you anticipate the kit being sent out?

cant wait thanks. PS get some sleep you remind me of me and thats not good at all.

Hi David, worse case scenario is I could get it delivered to Robert Faggian's place (Ferntree Gully from memory) and pick it up from there as I have a mate with a ute (a Great Wall!!). It would be good if you could check this quote though as it does seem a bit strange that the delivery charge is over double what it is to Robert's place which is only an hour's drive away.

Like I've said previously, e-go delivered a full 97 kit (front and rear bar, side skirts) plus extras to my door from Sydney for $75. And that was with insurance. You should investigate using them instead.

In any case - Murray, your welcome to collect your kit from my place.

Legend!

Hey mate unfortunately its a price for each which i accidentally missed in my frantic state haha. Im still working on getting the price lower as there are a few palces overseas that would make it cheaper but im having trouble getting a reply as they may think its some sort of scam. Anyway ill continue working my magic trying to get something sorted but it looks unlikely that anything overseas would make it on time to be sent with the kits seeing as freight quotes have been obtained finally (still working on these as they are not finalized)

This is what I don't get Scott. So many excuses as to why David can't get on the net when you can buy a samsung touch screen phone similar to an iphone from the post office for $100! Plus, judging by the fact that David has 2, yes 2 late model soarers I'm sure he can afford a pre paid phone.

http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/5079/318443.html?1278284821

And still the question remains,

Seb the reason i dont have a phone or dont go out and buy one is that 6 weeks ago i signed a 2 year contract with plenty of calls and net so i could have net at work, net on the go and voicemail as a last resort for people to contact me. To this day i still have no phone or service as Optus and telechoice are utterly useless. Having gone back to telechoice 5 times and called Optus 4 times i still dont have my new Samsung phone back or service with each blaming the other. To top it off about 3 weeks ago i went back to telechoice to go mental only to find their store at Arndale Shopping Centre in SA (if anyone wants to check to verify my claims) doesnt exist anymore.

Yeah mate that was another solution that i came up with as i looked for people in the groupbuy close to you and saw Rob was around 100kms from you. Will let you know soon about which option is the best as im weighing up a few at the moment. By the end of the weekend i will have one sorted that is the best and cheapest without compromsing anything.

Well i went the E-go route to get quotes and doesnt look any good for most people, bit of a mixed bag but slightly more than Northline. I have a solution in place to make it all work just have to run some numbers and by the end of the weekend ill have the correct answer.

Records show that we still need final payments from the following
-Sami Ansari ($900 paid) HAS CONTACTED ME AND NO DRAMAS
-Clayton Carlyle ($350)
-Sebastian grant ($350 paid)
-Anaru Raugiheua ($200 paid) WILL PAY IN THE NEXT DAY OR TWO

Northline (insurance $2000) E-Go (uninsured)
Gavin Cox- $197.42 $211.10
Joshua Rao- $273.02 $611.89
Kevin Trac- $250.06 $302.71
Murray Lund- $530.03 $419.42
Peter Angelopoulos-$197.42 $211.10
Adam Underwood- $197.42 $211.10
Robert Faggian- $197.42 $211.10
Paul Mainey- $727.15 $421.62
Scott Wilkes- $512.67 $414.50
Michael Lucas- $197.42 $211.10
Anaru Rangiheuea- $273.02 $611.89
Sebastian Grant- $250.06 $302.71
Clayton Carlyle- $302.71

So by the looks of thing the WA people get screwed hardcore, Murray and Paul aswell as TAS get a reduction by around $100, everyone else is roughly $25-$50 worse off. Plus all E-go was uninsured where Northline is insured for $2000. Anyway i have a solution to save Murray and Paul now that i know E-go wont do it. Looks like stuff for TAS will go via E-Go, WA people will have theirs sent off via Northline and then for the rest it looks like Northline aswell. Anyway i got a trick up my sleeve but i gotta run some numbers before i know if its viable. Will know by the end of the weekend.

David, I'm moving back to Sydney in the week beginning 18 Oct, but I'm not sure what kind of timing you are looking at for delivery. I will PM you my Sydney address today. Not sure if this delivery would be cheaper (surely couldn't be more expensive lol)

David, I've used E-go a lot and I think you may have made a mistake in getting the quote. I just used their online calculator with the following specs:
Weight - 8kg
Height - 2.2 metres
Width - 70 cm
Depth - 60 cm
I selected their fastest service (2 days delivery) for a large parcel from postcode 5084 to 3156 and I was quoted $137 without insurance. How did you get $211? Insurance is an additional $60-ish. I am sure for Murray and the guys in Tas or WA we can get much more realistic prices.

I think all those quotes are a bit ridiculous if you ask me....

I just threw up the same numbers as Robert just now and got a much cheaper quote from the first place i tried.

I just went and measured a 97 kit that I've got here and amended the measurements upwards slightly (have edited the original post to reflect this), and dropped the weight to 8kg. The quote was an extra $30, but still a lot cheaper than some on that list.

Rob plug these following details in and see what you get.

Door to door: Pick up from 5013 to your address.

190cms x 120 cms x 60cms

190cms x 20cms x 15cms

Weight 10kg

From the looks of the quote than you and Scott got your forgetting that the rear bar is placed behind the front bar so the length is double, you have no side skirts been sent in that equation and possibly also not factoring in that they are having to come to 5013 to pick it up rather than a depot drop off. Get back to me on a quote with those details as that is what the kit takes up and also with $2000 insurance waiver and see what we get.

Pic time. Car is a 1993 that was bingled in the drivers side rear. We have seen Scotts grill and foggies fit like a glove so we are all GRAVY BABY!
Pics have been inverted to make it easier to see the lines and fit in some pics.

Dave, never received any emails from you....
I still need to know your address to drop off these grilles to be sent along with the kits.

And you still not having a working phone is not helping....

Are they the best pics you have of the side skirts?

Also you can see on the front bar the ridge line on the passenger side i was talking about.

You mentioned they are FRP, as in fibre reinforced plastic???

Who fitted and painted that kit?

David the kit looks ammazing mate the fitment where the bonnet is was a main issue for me because its such a small area and tight fight but from these pics its come up lloking as good as a stock bar! very impressed thanks mate!

Also David if its allright with you mate i might decide to get my uncles freight company to pick up my kit from your house and deliver it up this way mate! Just trying to save a penny to put towards installing the kit! Also if i go down this path and get my uncles freight company to ppick it up would you be able to wrap it up in all the bubble wrap and cardboard or would that cost extra? either way happy to pay for it!

Let me know dude}

David,
A reminder that I am moving back to Sydney on 18 October - wondering whether delivery is likely before or after that date?
Fit is looking very good - only minor glitch is the extension of the bonnet crease on the passenger's side of the front bar. I imagine that can be tidied up during fitting.
