being fibreglass would be bit easier to mould another vent into it joshua. Were you after one to let the turbo heat out? |

The water deflector will just be a flat piece of Fibreglass with a chanel to direct the water so you shouldn't have any dramas with clearance.
If you guys are happy I'll give the green light to start making them. |

Hey guys,
Picked up my Non Vented Bonnet today. and from the 5 min look I just had it looks like awesome workmanship! Wont' get a chance to fit it until sat arvo now but can't wait.
I would also be interested in getting some fiberglass front quater panels too I've spoken to a shop in melb who said they could do a set for roughly about $360. Maybe a future group buy. |

Glad your happy with it, I have heard a lot of good things about the quality of Blits kits.
The guards might be a good idea as well, I was hoping not to go overboard on my car but why not lol
The mould should be completed by now and with any luck the first Bonnet should be ready in the next day or so.
I will contact Blits tomorrow.
Scott, if your still after a bonnet just let me know when your ready. I can't see any problem in getting another one made up. Is it still ok to use your ac bar to make the mould?
I am pretty sure we will be going for the modded ac bar with the smoothed lines and lower grille deleted but if your after the normal ac bar they should be able to do that first. Still have to confirm prices. |

im still ok to do it, only thing i ask is that im still able to have my shine bar back, as will be used as the daily bar, while the modified/new bar will be used as the showbar etc.
Tassie roads are woeful to say the least and they get beat up quick.
Is hte blitz company making the front bar? |

They have just completed the first unvented bonnet, I am just waiting for some photos.
To keep things fair for everyone the bonnets will be sent out in the order that the deposits were received unless that person doesn't have the funds ready straight away.
Either way it will only be a couple of weeks for all to be completed. |

Just to let everyone know including those that have been sending me frequent emails that I have not forgotten about this and I have been sending emails to the company on a regular basis to get this completed. I don't know what the hold up is but have advised the company if its not finalised soon we will be requesting refunds.
Hopefully it won't come to that as it looks like they do very good work but like a lot of companies, the work seems to slow down when they already have half the money. lol |

Just a quick Q.
Went to put the new bonnet on today but had troubles getting the struts off. Is there a trick to this?
Do I just unscrew the bolts (nibs) or will the struts pop off the little nibs, couldn't get either to happen.

Unscrew the bolts. Also have a helper with the bonnet as it is not light. I dropped mine on my engine and it now has a big dent in the middle haha |

Yeah I had my mate with me, but we had trouble unscrewing the bolts, Will hit it with some WD40 over night and try again tomorrow.

Ok, got the bonnet fitted today, let the strut bolt soak with wd40 for a while n they came right out.
We ran intol a small hurdle though, just infront of the hinges is a small hook type thing that sticks up into a small slot on the stock bonnet, this was solid on the new one. We hit it with the hole saw to allow rom for the hook.
Will need to degas struts but otherwise it's all looking good. |

I am new here and am very sorry if I sound like an idiot but, the bonnet is a good fit for all soarer makes? i have a 1997 N/A and dont really need any vents or anything but I appreciate the image and like to make things look nice. Secondly if it rains since the bonnet has a open hole in it will the rain enter my engine bay and damage anything? how would we get around that problem if it is one? and lastly they are painted to the right colour code? and/or can we get a black pearl version of this hood like the one in the picture that Aaron posted? and lastly cost for all this is how much? |
