I just feel for the people involved in this . Specially as by the time people get to fit these kits ( and if they do ) , the kits will be worth more than the cars they are being fitted too !!!

Wow still feel so sorry for the guys involved , yet I still get a bad feeling about all of this.

I mentioned before that it should be real easy for someone to go to David's house and take a picture of the 8 completed kits , just to ease everyones nerves , yet no-one has ?

Narvey Stuck up for him , yet he conveniently is parting out his car or wrote it off or something.??

Someone just needs to Grow some Balls and go to his house and take a few pictures or confront him or something , the fact he can't find 5 mins to post something is alarming at least !!!

I would be thinking, if there are 8 completed kits, why not send them out, rather than leave them all in once place.

no offense Paul but I don't think anyone in this GB gives a crap about seeing pics anymore.....they just want their kit and I don't blame 'em for a second...... after this is all over (whenever that may be) I don't think David will have a good chance in running a GB again in the future after this episode, and to not fully co-operate and update members is a load of BS. I feel sorry for the members involved in this GB and hopefully you all get your kits soon and all this crap comes to a good and happy conclusion. Good Luck with it all guys.

• These prices are account prices + $35 to cover the bubble wrap + packing tape + specialty packing tapes + stickers for safe packaging etc. plus a bit of fuel for me driving around with trailers the last couple of months. So the price is either the price frm E-go or Northline whichever is cheapest + $35 to cover the outlay ive put into packaging equipment.

Thanks for your input; i chose to make my NO. 1 priority making this happen and after the fact go through all the bullshit that occurred and clear my name. I don’t care that people slander my name, im working for those involved and thats all and once they get their kits all the facts will be laid out and people can pass judgement once fully informed. There is a reason why i have sent out 100+ set of floor mats in the past and no one complained about my work ethic and every person received what they paid for. I have a reputation for delivering and been honest, that’s why impart i think Peter let me do this groupbuy know my background of honestly, morals and ethics.

Not true, Scott Gates knows where i work and live (plus at least 3 others in this thread and more on this forum plus countless on nissansilvia.com and supraforums). The idea behind not informing too many 'RANDOM' people about my address is that im holding onto the kits as the place making them has room for 2 full kits and one in the mould. Again i go above and beyond to do what has to be done, you think its pleasant having your living room, spare bedroom (that i could be renting out), kitchen and garage full of kits. Let me tell you the smell of polyurethane isnt something i want to ever live with full time. But like a said it needed to be done, its only for a number of weeks and then will never have to be repeated. Its called sacrificing for the greater good, the greater good been the people who have waited patiently. Those than have dreamed for this kit going on years now.

Sidney Tran wrote on Sunday, November 28, 2010 - 05:15 pm:

Has been stated before, i take no pleasure in hanging on to these, from the toxic smell, from having to borrow tow cars and transport kits to my house with a trailer then returning the trailer and the tow car and doing this 5 times which took 5 full days all up. The reason as state before is that two freight quotes were so high that they would have been deal breakers which is bullshit for those people having to wait so long and find out that freight is so much and thus they cant go ahead with the kit. Believe me it would have been a load easier if once i got the freight quote each kit was sent off individually thus no need for storage at my house, no need for around with transporting to my house, and no need for me to spend entire days doing this. However the only solution to the large freight quotes was to combine freight and drive a truck thus splitting the cost and saving people money and allowing for them to go ahead with the kit. The added benefit for everyone else is that the kits have been stored properly by me and have had time to rest. Not only that but the way im packaging them in the rental truck is a better than any freight company. NO piece will be in contact with any other piece, nor will any piece be stacked on top of one another. This is the proper and safest way to transport the kits, freight via Northline and E-go could have ended in insurance claims if stuff was stacked on top of the ktis etc thus longer wait until insurance company pays out. There are reasons for every action, im a immunologist by trade and because of this i dont make emotional decisions i make rational decisions. The rational decision was to split the costs of truck rental, diesel, excess kms. Ill be travelling for 3 days to pull this off, i dont make a dollar in fact i have to pay for my own lunch. Ps. if anyone wants to donate a sandwich when i deliver your kit next weekend im all for that :-) haha

Narvey hardly even knows me, he just saw how much bullshit i was dealing with to make this happen, so many that things were not ever done the first time around but i had to keep going back again and again. These people were ones we needed to rely on so i had to put up with it. He pretty much saw how much bullshit i was going through and basically couldn’t pass it on via soarercentral.com That will all change once these kits are out and i have priority 1 crossed off, then i will outlines all the bullshit i had to deal with to make to happen and then people can freely judge me. Pretty much Narvey observed how hard I was working yet I was getting bagged.

I dont know why people would have gotten too much of a bad feeling, after all 4 groupbuy of floor mats no dramas, floormats on other forums no dramas, pics of actual kit from US provided, pics of mould completed provided, pics of Scott picking his kit up, pics of a kit fitted and painted. That tells me the product exists and people are receiving them after paying money. I dont know but the argument is irrational in regards to your first comment.

Not time to post comes from 15-20hours a week doing kit related sutff + 24 hours at work + 38 or more at uni in the labs. With a schedule like that only time i could have posted was whilst at work or if i didnt have to do physical stuff with the kits. The physical stuff HAD to be done so that left posting at work, i got a large data plan for this very reason and signed a 2 year contract. Optus been useless was never part of the equation and totally out of my control, if you could see the frustration of knowing the storm that was going on here but not been able to post well then you have a accurate picture of what i have looked like for the last 3 months. If needed I can provide when I signed the contract because that will be roughly the same time I stopped posting reasonably frequently online. My 3 prepaid mobile broadband expired, my phone was getting on with age so I thought I new phone + 1gb data pack and the ability to tether to my laptop at work would make my life easier. I can tell you with with a hysterical chuckle that signing that contract was the worst thing that happened this year hands down. For anything relating to this groupbuy rather than making a 2 minute call to the place making the kit I had to drive sometimes 30-45mins just to keep on top of stuff. Now you get an idea of no inefficient having no phone is and why I wasn’t able to post regular updates.

Apparently tomorrow i will be able to pick up the grilles. Scott if you see this please provide me with info for whom the grilles are meant for.

I hope when i finish reading all unread posts that i come across something productive that you have contributed to this groupbuy in one way or another. Whilst i was working my arse off to make this happen and deliver on achieving the goals set out; thats the best you have to contribute then that is pathetic. People have been dreaming about this kit for years but financially couldnt afford it, i get it done at a reasonable price aswell as taking the time to do it properly and that is all you have to say and contribute. How come you didnt use your time to suss out a way of getting us foggies for cheap or door mould or grilles etc?

One more thing Daniel, people want info and updates, when i was doing them then people like yourself called them excuses and 'should've' There is no way i can please you, if i post an update and explain the situation i get shot down, when i dont because im making this work on a shoe string budget and working/dealing with incompetent people you criticize me about not posting. Wait for my outline of all the bullshit and ill wait for your take of things once you have all the facts. Sound fair?

Personally, if you had of just let me know from time to time that you are still on planet earth that would have been enough to put my mind at ease. Surely you understand when you have so much money in your care and disappear from the forum for extended periods of time that people are going to be very concerned but I'm 100% sure that once people receive their kit all will be forgiven and forgotten as you will have achieved something that everyone wants, but no one has been willing to do!

With regards to shipping, I was in Melbourne last week in a 40 cubic metre truck, had we of had better communication I could have organized to bring them back up with me. As far as driving time is concerned the trip from Melbourne to Sydney is about 12 hours. I did it in 10.5 in a very fast truck strictly sticking to the speed limit hopped up on no doze and only stopping twice for fuel for 5 minutes but there aren't many trucks on the road as fast as mine so in most rented trucks you'll be sitting on 60ks an hour on the majority of hills.

My concern has never been wether or not we will be getting our kits. My concern is wether we have a way of getting replacement parts in the future which isn't confirmed yet but I don't want to hold anyone else up so I'll deposit the remaining amount today if you can confirm that MY kit has been made. From what I can gather no kit is being made without first being paid for so because I haven't paid yet how would my kit be ready in time for you to ship it?

Also David, it cost me on a round trip from Sydney to Melbourne $600 in fuel but I think you will be in a smaller truck which will actually use more fuel so expect around $700-$800 in fuel alone. Tolls on the m7 m4 m2 are $10-$14 from memory so factor these costs in as well.

Mate i understand totally i just thought having dealt with $15000 worth of floor mats and delivering on them showed some scence of trust worthy. Once you hear the full story and its quite the shocker you will understand why its been so hard for me to come online even just for a few mins. I mean i loved lurking in forums learning and chatting, which is something i havent been able to do for the past year pretty much because of how devoted i was to this. I mean i missed out of ALOT of leisure time and thought of packing it in because frankly i was sick to death of dealing with people who seriously cant get anything write yet there is no one else that can help you to get the task done. But i always thought i want this to happen for people and i said i would do it and thats my word which i keep. Its just one of those things that you will find out once i post up full details that i had to think fast on the fly and do whatever was necessary to keep this thing chugging alone with progress.

As for the truck the costs are so finally balance with excess kms + rental costs + fuel costs and the cost split is bang on what actual freight would have cost. Only thing i didnt account for is the fuel economy of a small diesel truck, i was thinking in the range of 10L/100KM were as ive been told to expect in the range of 16-18L/100KM of diesel. Anyway its all set now, ive devised a way of fitting everything like a jigsaw yet nothing stacked or touching. So thats set in stone and there is no way ill change the plans as there wont be enough time.

As for replacement parts that has been something i have been thinking about for some time, it needed a solution and one that was simple and efficient. I wanted to make it available pretty much straight way and it will be for the most part. It will be launched soon enough once i know all kinks are tested and made sure its fool proof. Basically i would always have to be involved as the place making them WILL NOT wrap anything as its too costly as they charge there work rates. Secondly i would always have to be involved as i would have to organize freight to anyone not metro in Adelaide. The shop will not deal with freight or pick ups so again my involvement is sending through orders, wrapping (i will investigate having custom cardboard boxes made if they are cost effective) and then having to organise freight pickups and convey tracking numbers if applicable. Plus another of other factors imposed on me by the factory. But again i reassure you there is something that will be in place and will work very well and almost effortless which will come online i would say mid to semi late December

As for your kit its ready to go as ive had this moving along. In essence your kit is someone eleses but they require special tape and thus cant be sent off until that arrives in fear of voiding insurance. So yes im set to go this weekend including your kit, all i need is you and Sami to pay the remaining amount and for everyone to pay the outstanding freight bill. Ill have to double check that there is no booking fee for the truck otherwise ill have to leave booking a truck until i receive every last payment before i go. But yeah we are set to go, i still have many little things that i need to do that tie together to make this work and mean the end of the wait.

Ps. again another headache that i forgot to mention in my reply is that im relying on people getting me proper delivery details, i still have people with no street number or no address all together. Ive asked and asked so if i dont get these on time it will jeopardize the delivery this weekend. Mainly because i need to plan the most fuel efficient/least amount of kms route to minimize excess km charges.
Hey Sebastian how many kms would that be for the $600 in fuel? And why does a smaller truck use more fuel? Ive calced it to be 3300km trip which means 18L x 33 x 1.30 which means roughly $800-$1000 worth of diesel for the whole trip. Does that sound about right? Again thats something i dont want to be doing last minute. If i dont have the fund and addresses by Wednesday night at the latest it will be difficult to have this occur this weekend so again i rely on others to do what ive asked. Reason is that the truck has to be rented after 4pm Friday and return before 9am Monday. This means i have a narrow window to rent the truck, get to the factory before it closes to pick up 3 wrapped kit, go back to mine and put in the temorary shelving and then organise the kits so everything is positioned properly and easy to unload for each delivery. Its totally up to participants, if people dont follow direction its simple that this wont happen this weekend. Dont blame me blame your fellow man as its up to them. I still have plenty to do and cant be baby sitting people are pleading multiple times. So put pressure on your fellow man to pay for freight and send me freight detail with actual street number and we will be good to go.

1800-1900km round trip cost me around $600 in a very efficient truck. The reason why a smaller truck uses more fuel is because it won't have the same low down torque so you will be revving its tits off to get anywhere.

So, from the Northern beaches (about 30kms from sydney cbd) to south western side of Melbourne is 907 km. From there to Adelaide cbd is 736km so roughly 3300km not including drop offs.

By my calculations I was getting around 25L/100km on a trip to Leeton last week. 1200km trip, $400 in fuel. $400 = 300L of fuel. 300 / 12 = 25L per 100km. In a smaller truck I'd expect to use 20% more fuel so you'd be looking at about 30L per 100km. 30L X 33 = 990L for the whole trip not including drop offs. 990 X $1.30 for diesel (cheaper in cities, up to $1.42pl in rural areas)you will be looking at a minimum of $1300 for the whole trip plus tolls.

One thing you really should do i make sure you get a truck with a nose cone. It's sits on top of the cabin and deflects wind to above the pan, it makes a MASSIVE difference on the highway. I wouldn't be surprised if it alone would save $200+ on a trip like this, mine doesn't have one but I've driven trucks with these on before and it really does make a difference to economy and stability.

Also mate, if you leave it till next week we may be able to meet up somewhere south of Sydney and I can come and pick them up off you and deliver them to the people in Sydney for you. I really think you're underestimating how dangerous it is to drive 3300km in really only 2 full days.

I'll pm you my number, give us a call and we can try Nd work something out if you want.

Yeah these dont have a cone but from a physics background i know how much they do help. Was thinking of doing something quick and temporary but again its a balancing act with time. I sussed out google maps turn by turn from each person place and yeah turned out to be roughly 3300 + or - 50kms. Do you know how much more efficient going 80km/hr over 100km/hr what at could possibly equate to?

And how is 30L/100km even possible, i mean the tank is 100litres and i know for a fact there isnt a servo every 300kms going from Adelaide to Melbourne. Going on that maths we would need atleast 3 x 20L jerry cans just to be sure we dont get stuck in the middle of know where. Surely these bloody things cant be that fuel inefficient, i mean the drag of the cargo area would be large but 30L for 100kms is bloody crazy if in fact true. Ill ponder so more before my meeting at 10am, i might read up some reviews or something on the engines and see what people get fuel economy wise with them.

Ive done it before and was pretty fine for the journey, had like a 2 hours name and when i got how i was buggered for a while. However i might be taking someone with me or potentially 2 other people to do the driving in turns.

Ill ponder some more and if need be we can work something out mate.

Definitely get someone to go with you Dave. You don't want to be microsleeping on the freeways with so much money/kits on the line. Good to see this is group buy is finally coming to a close.

Well Good to see something happening for all involved.

If you are trying to make me feel bad DAVID, then sorry my friend aint gunna happen, the Way I look at it , if I in any way made you fell bad and spurred you into responding, then something good happened.

Not sorry if I offended in any way, just think you leave alot to be desired in the way you ran this whole thing.
People aren't wanting excuses. All they wanted thru all of this was some communication and open and transparent Information.

Still thing theres more to come out in the wash with any warranty issues, and if people aren't happy when they recieve there kit or try to fit.

Lets see how you respond to further requests DAVID, or are you just going to wipe your hands of all of this ?

Wait and see I guess.

At least I think some people now feel alittle better knowing thats all !
Good luck to all involved

On the trip to leeton which worked out to be 25L per 100km I was giving it some stick on the way there so you should get equal to that in fuel economy I guess. I wouldn't expect anymore than that but I guess there's only one way to find out.

David, all paid up.

Also with the fuel costs I forgot to factor in that I had a 5 tonne load so with your truck basically being empty I'd say your estimates would be pretty close, probably 20L per 100km. Plus there are way more service stations on the trip in towns along side the highway.

Ok guys due to a few circumstances that have crept up this weekend we wont be able to hire a truck. What will happen is either mid next week or next weekend ill try again. If that doesnt pan out then ill just freight them via a freight company and figure something out for the few people with freight dramas. Hold up is mainly due to not receiving all freight funds to allow us to proceed aswell as the unfortunate circumstance of Adam no longer been able to go ahead with his kit due to it been a right off. I got two alternatives to make up for the fact that we have one less person to split the hire costs of the truck so ill be running new numbers and scenarios today and tomorrow to make sure they are financially feasible.

Again mid next week around (Wednesday or Thurday) is a possibility if things pan out, if not then (Friday, Saturday) and if its no longer financially feasible to truck it over myself then ill sent them out for freight and work out the kinks with the remaining people needing help.

Cheers

Oh yeah Anaru and Josh- 1 Kit will be ready by Monday for transport however im still waiting for the specialty tapes to arrive so it can be sent off. Because Anaru paid for freight first he will have his sent off first. As for your kit Josh it might be ready to send out late next week it just depends if ill be here or on my way interstate as ill need to pack it. If i dont leave interstate mid week there is a good chance around Friday your kit will be in the freight companies hands aswell.
