Ok so still waiting on a few more freight payments but ive emailed people, still need to get exact addresses from people but they also have been emailed. Basically im hoping to have the last kit payment finalised very shortly, have the remaining freight funds all account for and all proper delivery addresses in my hand. We dont have much time, it wont happen this weekend as we havent gotten even half the freight payments. Anyway what i have done is im planning on truck it via another company ASAP during next weekend around Monday or Tuesday as the current company only has good prices if you take it after 4pm Friday and return it the following Monday before 9am. Anyway that wont work as people are going on holidays and winding down etc. So ill need to do this during the week, thus early to mid next week. Failing receiving all freight payments im just gonna have to send them via Norhtline and E-go and sort out to few people that have right freight costs. First WA kit will be sent off tomorrow or Monday. Second WA kit for Josh R. will be sent off end of next week.

All people that need to be in the know about whats going on with their kit have been notified via PM/email. I need freight payments ASAP so i can decide to go one way or another. Again i dont take pleasure from holding this up, not much i can do and im offering to take up my time and help people. Ideally we wouldnt have to truck it ourselves but thats the situation right now. Again if need be ill just freight out the peoples kits that have normally priced freight and help find a way for the expensive freight people. Eitherway should know mid next week if my arse is in a truck or whether a truck is coming to my place to pick these up.

Stay posted and please send through freight funds ASAP.

Ta

Should also receive around $100 worth of specialty tapes today and ill order more bubble wrap just encase so we dont run out for Josh R. Thats about it really. Once its all sent out ill go through this mess of posts and make up a FAQ section to save time for future people aswell as outlining how people order replacement parts or order in the future. That should be ready about 2 weeks after all kits are out of my possession and in the hands of their owners.

Lastly i just had a play around with my grill and one of the bars and i forgot something, people will need to grind a tab on the back of the grill so that it can be bolted onto the bar. During the test fit mine had to have the same treatment done. Dont worry it doesnt effect performance and cant be seen at all. You could potentially cut out the small middle section in the bar so the grill clip doesnt fowl on it but yeah we ground it away instead. People will see when they come to fit their grill into the front bar.

She came through :-) Cheers

Also in anticipation of delivery if people wanna buy some adhesive spray for placards that would be good. Reason been is they all look like clones only with the serial numbers been different. To cut a long story shot the place making them mixed up the way they should have been done. Each kit should have had 1 unique serial number on each of the 4 pieces but they mucked it up. So as the kits have been packaged i didnt wanna go through the headache of destroying 20 hours of packaging. So when people receive their kit ill supply the placards. Most people wont have placards on their kit and will be able to glue them on where ever they feel. A few people will need to glue their supplied placard over the old mixed up placard. I would have done it myself but yeah unwrapping and rewrapping would have taken so so long. Thats something ill go through in person when dropping the kits of anyway :-)

Secondly keep those freight funds coming through please. Still have a number of people im waiting to hear back from and receive freight funds.

Cheers

Ill update it tomorrow as i dont want to upset people that have sent it through but because of the weekend hasnt cleared. The plan is to leave with the truck on Tuesday (pending i receive all freight payments). If that doesnt work then ill just freight out the ones that have been paid for as i still have to wrap a kit tomorrow and one on Friday to make sure everyone has there kit on the way.

Also if anyone else is keen for a kit and for it to be delivered in the next few days it appears that Sami Ansari's spot will be for sale as he doesnt need the kit for another 6 months and just started a new job.

Hi guys ive been quite sick the last few days. Anyway long story short i didnt receive all of the freight funds (still waiting for a few) so i wasnt able to rent the truck and make my way down the weekend that just past. Anyway ive been working feverishly to get a few things done and get these out ASAP.

So as things stand now, there wont be a delivery done by my via truck but rather i will be freighting them to everyone ASAP. This leaves a few problems that wouldnt have occured via transporting them myself and this is what im working on and pretty much have all figured out now. Pretty much the way the kits were packaged was fine if i were to transport them myself as i would take my time handling them etc. However for freight the way the kits were packaged had me worried that A) the freight company wouldnt accept them B) I didnt feel confident that the level of packaging to protect them via a freight company was adequate.

So what ive done is pretty much fast tracked what i aimed to do once these kits were sent out. So now all kits will be freighted out, i will be getting custom cardboard boxes made up ASAP so that the kits are protected adequately. Now the following delays/problems are associated:

1) I will have to wait until the custom cardboard boxes are manufactured. That in itself a hassle at all and shouldnt take longer than 24 hours. The problem lies with the timing, places are winding down for XMAS break so i cant give an ETA because everyone goes on holidays at different times. Thus i have no idea if these will be made before XMAS and if not whether they can be made between XMAS and NYE. Thats something ill be finding out 9am today.
2) Now that things are been freighted i need to order more tapes (the stuff i have should be sufficient for everyone's kit but who knows). Thus not knowing if i have enough specialty labeled tapes could cause a delay. This all comes about by not trucking and now having to freight
3) Some of the freight was going to go through E-go as they were cheaper than Northline respective to the recipients address and the respective companies depot. Now E-go is going on holidays from the 24th to the 4th of Jan 2011. Thus the custom cardboard boxes may/may not be ready however even if they are then there is no freight outbound till the 4th of Jan.

There are a few other issues but yeah just more bullshit i have to deal with that i wont bore you to death with.

SO............. GAME PLAN TIME :-)

1)Get custom boxes made up for everyones kits. 24 hours turn around depending if they are still at work or on leave.
2)At the same time ill order more tape
3)Kits will probably have to stay with me until i get the tape and cardboard boxes on my end.
4)The people that have paid will have there kits freight ASAP, does that havent paid freight will have their kit sitting in limbo until they do.
END GAME: It looks like 4-6th of Jan 2011 they will start been sent off. By the time the boxes are made, tapes arrive, i box things up, get freight to pick it up + wait for freight to come back from holidays its gonna be early Jan. That and i celebrate XMAS from 24th evening, then 25th as normal and then i have a parents birthday on the 26th.

All in all i did everything on my end to actually leave last weekend, it couldnt have been helped as it was out of my hands. Now we are where we are, faced with what we are faced and i have plenty of resin fumes to get high off during XMAS haha

ps. Ill be going through the emails now, shouldnt be that many but i thought i should let people know.

Nope Josh yours wasnt posted either for a different reason. I was waiting on "top load only" tape and it only arrived Friday arvo last week. Ill send you a document to prove this, but yeah the people i ordered it from had delays due to two workers passing away from cancer (not 100% sure as they wrote an apology on the invoice). So to freight the kit it will need to have the "Top Load Only" tape otherwise it could void insurance (stuff that). So yeah didnt have the tape in time and the place making the kits has gone on holidays.

So for you ill be also ordering custom cardboard boxes along with everyone else in the groupbuy and then going ballistic with "Top Load Only", "Fragile" and "This Way Up" tape and then ill freight it out. Believe me i wanted to send these out for quite some time, as much as i love them i wanted to have a bodykit free XMAS haha. Wont be long now though and aslong as i take ever precaution so there is no damage/insurance claims needed it worked out better.

Guys let me know if im around too much with this packaging paranoia as i found this pic and now remember how the kit from Shine that i received was packaged. Now although the Shine kit was cracked slightly in 3 place i would put that down to inland transport rather than overseas transport. So what do you guys reckon should i in the future only package it like Shine or should i go to the lengths i have of full bubble wrap or custom boxes? My main gripe is that im fearful of damage and then having a massive fcuk around with insurance. Now if that only happened to one person im happy to help even though it will be many hours and a drawn out process like most things via insurance. However if i got say 50% of the kits damaged and needing insurance then just helping people go through the process would almost be a fulltime jobs.

Anyway im open to discussion but my feeling is to get it right and not have further hassles. What do you guys reckon. Plus the Shine kit was all throw on top of each other in a small as fcuk box the size you get a plasma in and still it wasnt heavily damaged at all. I dont know better to be safe and pedantic rather than sorry ya?

Mate i drive/deliver for a freight company ... Your going way over the top with worrying about packaging ... Ive delivered stuff worth alot of money and laugh at the lack of packaging , and it still makes it there in 1 piece aye !

Extra cardboard on edges and bubble wrap would be heaps sufficient . Use fragile tape and Top load only stickers and it should be fine .

Least with my company it would be :-) Cant speak for others .

Daniel- probably so mate its just ive had things sent over from the US, Japan and Europe and they dont get damaged at all. Then when they are dispatched from Melbourne to Adelaide they are Im just trying to foresee any potential problems and been extra cautious as insurance companys are a pain to deal with in general and i really wouldnt have time for 5-10 individual insurance claims as i would have to file insurance claims as the sender. Catch 22, been cautious takes time but if we rush it we could be in for a bigger wait with insurance.

Yeah true David . If they give you rules to go by , i guess your safer to abide by them . Like you said , if it was 1 item , chance it , but risking 5-10 damaged kits might'mt be worth it in the long run with insurance hassles .

That and they arent in boxes as the box factory is still on holidays. I just see sending them via freight without boxes and just bubble wrapped as a massive gamble. With a box + top load only tape + fragile tape means much less likely damage would occur. Just looking out for the best interests of their owners :-)

Hopefully boxes come in at a reasonable price and i can freight them out ASAP as im a bit sick of seeing them. Hopefully this works as for freight there are still people that havent paid up. Clayton-individual freight will need boxes, unless your willing to waiver any liability from my personally. If thats the case i can send yours tomorrow. If any damages happen to it via freight you will have to fight your own battle with the freight insurance. If you agree to this them im fine with sending it. Remember i dont exactly enough living with these kits for 3 months and half my rented house is utterly useless as im storing them properly and not stacking ontop of each other.

On other news i rang the box place and once again i cant get an answer to a basic request. Left several voice message but didnt receive a call back so ill be going there in person tomorrow.

Got a result today with the box manufacturer. Last weeks the size was just out as in too large for them to make out of raw carboard but they have orders something larger for us especially. Anyway i got pricing today and will be working at it tomorrow for an ETA of Thursday for the boxes to be deliveried meaning Friday freight could start rolling out.

Anaru ill send your kit out first to help out with that.

Cheers

Rob- still havent heard from you man, no emails no nothing. The place making the kits reopened after holidays today and we need your kit either sent out or for you to pick it up within the next few days as its taking up space. I dont want to piss these guys off as the deal was they were winding down for the XMAS break and these were suppose to have been sent out before they shut up shop for XMAS. Let me know ASAP man.

No worries mate looks like ill take delivery of the boxes sometime Thursday. Hopefully they are preformed to be easily assembled. Anyway once i have the first one in the box ill ring the freight company to come pick it up for you so i know yours is on its way either this Thursday or Friday. Should be Thursday but just incase the box factory doesnt deliver them in time it could be Friday. Eitherway yours will be on its way very shortly :-)

They must be growing the trees to make the cardboard for the boxes. Progress report?

Be patient, Murray. You've got to prepare the soil before you can plant the seed to grow the trees to make the cardboard boxes.

Dave what is the update on the kits? We've had many missed deadlines and I think everyone in this group buy has been more than patient. If it comes down to the crunch I am more than ready to drive to SA to pick the kit up myself, saves on waiting for these boxes.

I can't believe everyone sent their postage money off after it was suggested EIGHT kits were complete and in Dave's possession, when clearly FOURTEEN kits have been substantially paid for, (apart from Dave and Scott who already have their kits)

I think the main hold up is deciding who gets a kit and who misses out.

Nothin' to do with cardboard boxes

But once you get the custom boxes, you will need custom tape ?

Honestly, if they are that fragile, would you want it on your car ?? break into little bits when you hit a 100k's.
They will be fine with plastic wrap.
