Not a group buy, but an expression of interest.

I want to try the Intima type D pads in the Soarer track car. (Supra 4/2 brakes) The importer will bring them in, but the come in boxes of 12 sets.

If there is some interest in these pads, I will talk to the importer (Auto Parts Direct Australia, in Tuggerah) and see if he will bring them in.

Expect these pads to be priced somewhere between $160-$230 a pair based on ebay prices for other type D front pads.

Peter: let me know if this is not OK. I'm away for a couple of days, and will check interest later in the week, if I'm not lost at Clipsal somewhere.

From the website:
Intima Type D Series Brake Pad

Specifications:
Heat Range: Effective Braking 250°c - <850°c
Average µ: 0.45~0.6
100% Non-Asbestos Formula

Go for it. I would be interested myself, but I haven't done a track day for a few years. :-(

Doesn't appear to be any interest anywhere. I have purchased a new set of the SR6300 for the Time Attack in April.

Supraforums moderator didn't even reply to my email...

Matt, for $130 a pair I have had good results with the Intima SR6300, and figured the Type D would be even better. The SRs are a 'street race' pad meaning there is a compromise made so they are acceptable for use on the street.

If I could purchase a single set and try them I would, but the importer has to buy 12 minimum. He has been good to me over the years, and I don't want to put him out. He went and got the SR6300 Supra 4pots in for me when I switched brakes.

Unfortunately Intima does not have the brandpower of other brake pads in Australia. Good for keeping the price of the SR6300 pads down, but hard to justify bringing in such a specialist pad.

Josh, your profile signature thing is way longer than your post, LOL.

No, not the Soarer, just the HTV1900 (Supercharger only), as with the stroker kit I will be fitting, the 1900 will not have enough puff for what I want.

How's things where you are?

I think this thread is dead now anyway Matt.

I can't compare them to the TRD pads because I never tried them. As for the dust, there is some, but remeber I am probably overclocking them at temps mine are getting up to. I was going to buy some TRD pads from rutherford and bond when I bought the new brakes but the cash was starting to wear thin.

Flat out Nathan. I am biting off more than I can chew again. Adelaide is good- we bought a nice house with lots of shedding out in the north so I don't get caught up in the rat race. Nice having a couple of options for parts, tuning, supplies etc. I don't like the Mallala track as much as Hidden Valley, but then I have only driven it once.
