I am having the same problem even with the engine running though.

What state is battery in? Also check all your earths, it's the commonest reason for electrical "bits" not working (assuming they have juice:-)).

Battery is less than 2 weeks old. I shall check earths, however I haven't had any other electrical problems so I can't see this is likely to be an issue. I shall just give them some time and see how they go - perhaps I have been unlucky with connections or something.

Yeah mine flicker if I turned them on before I start the engine. If I start the engine first there is no problem. Can't expect too much for $50. I'm pretty happy with them.

when starting your engine volt fluctuates putting the ballast into safety mode, turn them on after starting the car, anybody having issues with both left and right bulb, remember they are two separate kits, the likelihood of both being faulty is very little, i would check if enough power is making it to the ballast, unlike regular bulbs these need all the power they can get or the ballast will not send power to the bulb.

Received mine today. Chucked one in on drivers side, had to turn the plug the other way round but works good. Cheers Fady.

I too have fitted my new HID's. It seems that our cars have a different polarity to what the kit is, as you have to reverse the plug. There is a better way and that is to remove the two pins in the plug of the new loom, and reverse them. This way the plugs are then locked together when coupled.

To remove the pins you need a very small tool like a jewellers screwdriver and insert it into the gap on the inside of the plug, as shown in the photo. This moves the tang on the pin to allow the pin to be removed from the plug.
Before reinserting the pin make sure that the little tang is protruding to lock the pin when reinserted.

Have also mounted the ballasts as shown. Lights work very well, no flicker, just a much better light than before.

Thanks Fady.

daryl, you could do this or just turn your black and brown plug in your photo around and it'll do the same thing, and it'll take 3 seconds

good work though

Fady,

You can turn both these plugs around and they will work, but they do not have positive locking when coupled together.

Reversing the pins in my opinion is the correct way to do it.

I installed mine today and like most of you guys just had to turn the plug around and taped around it with some electrical tape so it doesnt come loose and they work perfectly fine, much brighter than the normal xenon bulbs I had in there. Also mounted the ballasts in the same spot as you Daryl :-)

cheers again Fady
