Ah ok, I know another of the guys that does the Movieworld stunt driving and know he has done some drifting as well... aaaanyways, the guy sounds like he has more than his share of skill, you should do well with him :-)

*edit: and I only just realised, had I scrolled up and read a bit more, my question would have already been answered hahaha

Great pic. Paul, we had a great time at Eastern Creek the Soarer surprised us all as it has never been on a fast track ( 155kph ) before, we were running semi slicks that lasted just 6 runs but they smoked up well and we came 3rd overall up against some of the fastest and best drifters in Australia. Will post some pics up soon. Also a big thanks to Aaron Casey for his help on Sunday at Wakefield.

Soarers new look, will only be having stickers on the rear quarters and side skirts so far, it was getting a bit tired and needed a tidy up.Thinking of getting some Work XD9's but will have to see how finances hold up.

the canards look good on the front bar and good to see its no longer red haha

i think would look bit better without the stripe or possibly splitting it making it two stripes.

any other performance mods? how did you go with the cam issue?

Hey Aiden that was totally unexpected just go to show how small the world is, hope you had a good trip a real bummer all the dramas over there at the moment, will give you a mail when we have an event locally. The kit is a BN blister kit with a cheap arse Yahoo Auctions bonnet. Have made some upgrades lately RDA and EBC gave us some slotted rotors and pads, they really made a difference good gear would recommend them and some Project MU handbrake shoes, these were an improvement, also building a 2J with all the gear, just waiting for the parts to arrive so we can finish the machining.

Also coming back every day I just mis osaka so much. That was my favourite. I still went through hiroshima kyoto and tokyo after i spent some time in aizumi (part of the tokushima prefecture). Really loved japan all of it.

2J love, bought a blown engine as I was going to forge it anyway,Wiseco pistons and rings,Eagle rods,Crower 262 deg. cams, new modified oil pump,Arp head and crank studs, race bearings and all the rest was genuine water pump, seals and gaskets. Tony at Donnelly Engineering did all the machining and head work as well as balancing, he does great work. Built the engine myself and so far it's all good.Fitted a different intake along with 880cc injectors, with a bigger fuel rail and a fuel regulator, also adjustable cam gears, look nice but not a huge advantage for us as we aren't after a huge power figure. Running the same turbo Garret GT 35R with a .83 rear housing. Everything bolts into the car o/k but then again everything is different, had big job on the intake side as it was after market, moving the fuse box, wiring loom ect. ect.Still running the 1j power fc and started and idled first kick,I was amazed, now off to the tuner Matty Sprye at Pitts.

Yeah we figured it was best to point the lights to the edges.Anyway back to the 2J went to the tuner for a run in and it's first mild tune, had a strange problem with the exhaust getting red hot after 2,500 revs, made the call and tuned it anyway, made 450 rwhp on 18 psi,did a short track event at Archerfield and all was good, following day went back for the final tune and decided to run a 50/50 mix of Toulene and pump fuel just in case we had high exhaust temps, 20 psi 500 rwhp with boost starting to come in at 1200rpm and fantastic mid range which is what we are after, don't need a huge hp figure just usable power. Don't need NOS any more no longer has much lag at all. I'm sure with the built motor we could run a lot more boost and make a large hp number. As you can see by the pick if you fit a 2J promo girls will lay on your bonnet :-)

Is the heat due to some sharp corners in the exhaust? Or maybe to a cat block? You probably don't even run a cat...

Resonators often have fiberglass filling in them if they're a certain type, they could be degrading..

Maybe your dump isn't very good?

Ah I don't know just speculation at 2:40am after a night of drinking :-)

Overall I think any driver with positive boost at 1200rpm would be incredibly happy with their car. That's more useable than any kind of high figure. Means you've chosen a good turbocharger setup which should perfectly suit the style.

Keep us informed! We're always keen.

Have just fitted a set of BRANZ front upper and lower control arm bushes as the old ones were a bit worn. It was an easier job than I thought and the new bushes seem heaps better than stock. Will get a wheel alignment next week and we are Drifting at Parklands on the 2nd of October, so it should be a good test.
