Well I've never actually made one of these before, but decided maybe some people can get some ideas from it, would be great to see some more soarers out drifting! I'm a bit alone in WA with the z30!
Picked this car up last year, manual conversion with a tired engine, GT30/40, coilies etc etc. It had previously made 340rwhp with the setup, but was running just under 300rwhp when I bought it. Was also running an OS Giken quad plate clutch for some unknown reason.
I took it out for a two day drift weekend, had a blast, and had no problems all weekend. Given that I was told I'd need a new engine when I first bought it, I was pretty happy with this!
A week later, took it to Barbagello, and lasted a good 30 seconds on the track before I felt the clutch stick. Towed the car home, had a chat to WTF, then left it for a month or so.
Finally, towed it down to WTF in Kelmscott for a new clutch, flywheel, engine, as well as a bigger radiator (had a lot of overheating problems when drifting) and a new intercooler setup to suit.
The quad plate clutch had 3 plates welded to each other and to the flywheel. A pretty sad sight. Engine had zero compression in the second cylinder...
After a couple of months, and with the addition of Stomps' old 1jz, it's now all back together, big thanks to the WTF guys, they're legends! Still happy to help out and work out problems when I run into them at the track!
I don't have any of the current engine bay shots, but I'll get some up this weekend. It's a very impressive job, and testament to the good work the guys do.
Car made 397rwhp @ 19psi, however for some reason the timing setup on my PowerFC could not be accessed?? }

Awesome photos, nice to see a stock looking Soarer getting sideways
The car is still road registered, so I've tried to leave it as stock looking as possible so that I don't draw any attention to myself! The couple times I've been pulled over for RBT's I haven't had any problems, so I'd like to continue that.
Will be good to see your car out there when you get it finished Stomps! You thinking about taking it up to practice nights?
I really have no idea what's going on with the PowerFC, to be honest I don't even know where to go to find out what's wrong with it!
I'm a little worried that Tristan's tune has been wiped as well - the boost controller reset itself when I took the battery out, and it feels very much like it's underfueling between 3k and 4k. Been a busy week so I haven't looked it over yet, but it'll suck if it has reverted back to the tune that it had before Tristan and Adz got their hands on it...

hey,
yeah for sure.. the plan is to debut the car at the AFARCC track day on the 5th of June just so i can get a feel for the car..
then attend the next practice after that.. then whatever comps etc.. i can get to... my mortgage is kicking my arse ATM so i dont know if ill be able to make every session... but ill sure as hell try..
Sucks to hear about the PFC.. i thought they were really user friendly and simple to tune...
