Watched your video the other night when surfing Youtube Aaron, didn't realise you'd also posted your update here in the thread. The noise sounds like brakes/tyres locking to me. It can be front or rear, depending on how the car is loaded up at the time.

Also sounds like you're getting a chirp when you drop down a gear and release the clutch - rear wheels letting go when you do it, giving you that feeling of changing to oversteer. More practice with the heel-toe throttle blip should fix that.

Actually, I just enlarged your video to full screen and watched more carefully. You are locking the brakes yourself when you are doing the heel-toe thing. You are applying too much pressure on the initial bite (as you described in your post), causing an initial brake lock, then easing off the pedal and it unlocks. But then you blip the throttle and in the same action reapply more pressure to the brake, locking it again.

Blow the video up to full screen and listen while you are watching your feet...

Ahhh k I will look at it later today thanks Andrew! I will say my downshifts to second have been really sloppy with my shoulder! Second to third are fine etc just the angle to go back to second with a shortshift, my shoulder still hasnt got much strength back from dislocating it. Its still getting better and starting to lift small weights above 45 degrees. Its just taking its sweet ass time!

Okay, hit wakefield up yesterday with circuit club. was hoping working front brakes and speed limit cut would net me a 1:11.
1st session was wasted, they accidentally put me in the bottom group due to their site having a glitch and not registering my pb time. So basically spent all the session sitting behind someone or hanging back for a lap to get a gap, to catch them after 2-3 corners and ruin the next lap anyway.
So after getting that sorted got put into group b. Next session was able to get a couple of laps without catching someone by the end of it. Ended up cracking out a 1:10.4, though still slightly annoyed as the speed cut i bought didnt work. Still sitting on limiter for a fair while. I tried disconnecting it so the ecu was not getting a speed signal yet tested in next session and found still had speedo and also still had speed cut.. so who knows, I used the apexi and also the factory wiring diagrams to get the speed input and ground into ecu.
Anyway next session I was having alot of fun as was actually catching cars I thought would be alot faster and originally waved them through thinking I would be holding them up. Hit a new pb of 1:10.12! (passenger session so wasnt timed...) think they would time the passenger sessions and just have an indicator to say different session or something... But I was really happy with that! racechrono now has a best optimal time of 1:09.6.
Next session stiffened up rear a little as felt a bit boaty and felt a little better but struggled to get a clean lap as I was pushing braking points and also catching others and getting into groups so couldnt slow off enough to get space. Managed a 1:10.29 in that session so was pretty happy I was able to get another low time with a few 1:11s in the session.
Next session was kind of the same the group was all over the place so was hard to get clear laps. Had a lap that I was hitting everything absolutely perfect! racechrono was showing -1.3 to -1.5 seconds coming down the back straight and I got really excited thinking I was going to dip under the 1:10 mark!!! So hit the brake point... perfect, turn in and hit the accelerator too harsh mid corner and car kicked out a bit and I lost all my exit speed!!!!! Painfully going down the straight seeing the racechrono slowly cound down from -1.3 to -.8 to -.5 then -.3 and finally as I hit the start line +/-0... Then 1:10.30 came up on the screen... Devastating!!! haha Was soooo bummed! Teach me to try stay a bit calmer behind the seat and may need to move the racechrono so I dont have it right infront of me to spend too much time watching that instead of concentrating on driving.
Either way was lucky to have only mist of rain occasionally and overcast all day with roughly 20 degrees but with some wind gusts. Was good to do a track day under 34 degrees for once haha!
Now I am so close to sub 10s I feel I have to break it still before I turbo car! So with figuring out a removal for speed limiter, redoing front to have a proper splitter and also possibly having a bit more weight reduction with some doors off Ben I think I may hit that number with good weather!
Here is some pics anyway

The end of the damn slide that ruined my 1.09 haha

Well done Aaron, consistent excellent times. Ben, we need to pull our fingers out, obviously. The lad is catching us...

The car looks real good too Aaron. I particularly love the rear diffuser. I may have to try & copy.

I wonder what people think when they see a Soarer nearly leading the pack? And it's the v8 model!!
People drastically under- estimate Soarers & think they're boats.

The way I see it, once he catches up, there will just be a bunch of us trading small advantages and slowly dropping lap times.

That is assuming your next reincarnation doesn't come out and run 1:04 or something silly like that.

Not likely, in my humble opinion. 1:06 will be a good start though.

Yeah Clayton people are quite surprised its the 1uz.. They ask where I'm hiding the intercooler!
Thanks Andrew and Harry :-)
Not much has been done at all. Used all my spending money on a new camera and been to alot of weddings and birthdays lately so havent really had the chance or money to spend on it. Will be recouping after this week as accommodation and gold pass tickets for formula one this week down in melbourne. So if I'm not out there soon I will probably get some better pics of your cars!! Haha
(Btw if anyone wants a camera setup or knows anyone... my old kit is up for sale haha)

Well, been a while since i updated. Never got the 1.09 second bracket, kept hitting 1.10.1-.2 just couldnt get a perfect lap which would be all that was needed and every trackday i had it at was 32 degrees or above it burnt out the advans. So i bit the bullet and bought some 18x10.5 wheels with some Michelin slicks that ray had to go on his beast. The day after i got the wheels i got a message from Andrew explaining what was going on with his build. So after alot of thinking i came to the conclusion id be crazy not to upgrade to his beast of a build and get it back together again, unfortunately means i have to strip and sell off mine to help achieve it financially as still paying off the hilux tow car haha. So..The big girl is getting stripped apart 😢 its a bittersweet exercise as i loved how i built mine and as rough as it was due to no paint yet, it was getting great times for the power it had. But...... everyone on here knows how much of a step up Andrews car will be and i am really excited to have this opportunity! So if anyone is after any parts please feel free to contact me. So i will continue to update one of these build threads... hahaha
