Was thinking about putting this in General Discussion, but I think most of the real enthusiasts will look in this area instead.

I want to know what sort of lap times people are doing, at each of the major circuits around the country. I'm using this purely as a bench-marking process for my car, so there are a few rules before you think about putting your times up:

1. No wankers. I need genuine, fair dinkum lap times, and this is not a thread for you to stroke your own ego.

2. Soarers only. It's not relevant what time you managed to put down in nana's Daihatsu Charade. As I said, this is a bench-marking exercise, and I want to try and compare apples with apples. I know there are different varieties of apples (read: different models of Soarers), but I don't need oranges here.

3. I need some basic info about your car. No need for a novel or a full specification list. Just tell me what engine, briefly outline mods (just saying "Suspension Upgrade" or "Big Brakes" will be enough), auto or manual transmission, how much weight has been pulled out, and what tyres you were running (again, I don't need brands, sizes or anything, just say slicks, semi-slicks or whatever).

4. It is not a pissing contest. I'm looking for the fastest lap times you have done, but read through the thread first. If your time at a particular circuit is slower that what someone else has put up, you won't help much by putting your time up, unless your car is a different setup. I am interested in seeing times from cars with different levels of modification.

Oran Park is dead and gone, but if you want to throw some times up for it still, go right ahead.

So, let's hear them then.

Cheers,

Andrew

Technically correct, seeing as though mine is still on the axle stands. But if the speed of the starter motor is anything to go by...

Why didn't you do anything at Eastern Creek before you moved north? A bit scared were you?

Yes, but your Soarer will NEVER beat my Oran Park time...

Yeah, turn one gives me nightmares. Nah, I just could never get a track day and my availability to line up. I guess when they charge a billion dollars to hire the track and then you have to to share it with eleventy other car clubs and corporate groups no one can be bothered with it. Gonna have to now though.

I'll get there one day. I think I'll try and hit every permanent circuit in Australia...

Aw come on buddy, my Corolla beat your times on both Oran Park layouts. I just didn't include the times on here because I only wanted Soarer lap times, and because I know how easily embarrassed you get.

Don't you mean 3 years, 1 minute, and 10.3 seconds

I forgot this thread was here.

Mallala 1:21.6 on semi slicks, stock motor and driveline. Lightened with backyard aero and off the shelf suspension mods (2.5deg camber front and 1.5 rear) Details in the track car thread.

Next session was quicker in both first and second sectors, but in the sand trap in the third...hoping new front end is more efficient, and the new engine management, highflows, and superspark adds a bit of oomph under the bonnet.
