Hi all, I have recently bought a BF xr6T. I has had an SCT chip on a rebreathed xr6t engine. I has a $6000 plus inlet manifold, bigger injectors and a big exhaust on the standard 35 turbo with big stage 2 intercooler and boxed air intake. It does 11 second quarters with around 400 klws at the wheels through a stage 2 rebuild 6 speed auto with a 2000 hp main shaft (gearbox fix was about $7000). It is a weapon to say the least. I still love my Soarer more but this Ford is really nice. If you breath on it the back comes around to meet you if you are not careful. I wonder one day when my V8 is at the end of its life, may be many years yet as it is faultless now, that I might try to put one of these amazing Ford turbo 6s in it and wondered if anyone else has ever done such a thing. I am sure the engine is higher but a modded bonnet is not too much of a challenge if other things work ok. The gearbox is one of the things that make this engine a fantastic powerplant. Am I the first to think of such a mod and if not what are the difficulties? Cheers John

What is the ford worth? Interesting setup and will out perform cars worth 10x the price.

I bought it for $10,500 plus had to roadworthy and register it, plus replace centre bearing on Tailshaft and half shaft, a tyre and a few other things but all up it cost me about $13,000. Pretty good for a Ferrari beater hey!

The problem with the Falcon 6 is its huge - like massive, way longer and taller (and heavier) than the JZ. In height and length it will be touch and go whether it fits i reckon

Yes Phil, it is huge. I would have to make a big hole in the bonnet to get it in that is for sure, it looks like about 3 centemeters upwards and I am not sure if it would fit sideways, between the spring towers, with the big inlet manifold that I have from Process west but the ordinary manifold looks like it could fit. but the width with the turbo will be tight if I was to give it a go. The 6 speed box is big too so may need a bigger trans tunnel too. If anyone hears about this mod being done I would love to talk to the person to see what it involves. I am not in a hurry to do this, just wanting to see if it is worth starting. It would require some serious electrical work too, no doubt. If I am too optimistic, maybe someone is selling their supercharged Soarer V8 car or taking their ride back to standard and wants to sell the supercharger set up??

The money required to do that could get you a serious 1uz setup or spend less and have a 1jz pushing out 300rwkw. If I was going to do engine swaps I would do a 2jz-gte no

I have done a big engine swap the costs stack up over time. Things don't work quite as well as they should and mechanics hate touching it. Can't remember what I spent but would have been at least $30k to have something that wasn't exactly ideal. In my instance it always leaked oil from the sump. Standard sump did not fit so needed to be custom. My opinion is you will spend big and still have lots of issues. When you finally get it right something will break.
