If your boot lid is sagging and won't stay up, you can either buy new struts from Toyota, get replacements from after market car shops or Ebay, or get yours regassed.

The original factory struts are quality built and stainless steel, so it made sense to me to just get them regassed, rather than get el-cheepo after market ones.

I had my UZZ30 struts regassed about 4 years ago, and they are just as strong now as they were after the job was done.

Another advantage is that the struts can be charged with different pressure to allow for the extra weight of a spoiler.

I just had my UZZ31 struts regassed at the same place, and they offered to adjust the pressure at no charge, if I wanted more or less after using the car for a while. Good service.

The cost was $70 to remove the struts, recharge and refit the struts. Done while I waited, took around 20 minutes.

Mine were done by Gas Strut Recharge at Colonel Light Gardens, SA. 1800 633 027 or Mobile 0417 835 821.

Other states would have similar services available, Yellow Pages might be the place to look.
