Diagnosis results:

E1 and TE1:- O/D dash light Flashing (diag mode)

Japanese Writing

Press 'Scroll'

EFI NG
EFI 21
EFI 22
EFI 31 (extra bar on display)

Press 'Scroll' again

ECT OK


Running Diag mode:-


E1 and TE2 (no O/D flashing)

No diag mode :-(

The diagnostic guide said that if the diag light did not flash, goto another section.. There is no other section

Any Ideas ..

I'm having the same problem, there is no diagnostic light flashing. All that comes up when I run diagnostic is EFI NG then EFI --. Same again for ECT --. Believe me I have searched this forum high and low and all of these threads don't come up with a solution. Someone please help.

Perhaps your Engine light bulb has blown or come loose, this happened once to me.

Yeah, I have had the dash out before so quite possible. I'll remove it and check that if there aren't any other ideas. I did the proper test mode where you start the car and I got EFI 78. I've temporarily bypassed my fuel pump ecu because I have a Bosch fuel pump so that makes sense but I still get EFI --. What does the code -- mean?
