hi There

I'm trying to figure out if it is coincidence or not that:

- Climate control broken on emv (ie, it's section is blank on the "summary" page, and if i press vent i get the white screen)
- Buttons are broken (ie, no lights for the circ/recirc, demister, etc)
- Temp knob doesn't do anything when pressed (ie, no beep)
- And the dash displays for odo/trip/etc are completely dead

I'm trying to figure out if I should start to troubleshoot the dash independently from the climate control issues or if they both point back to a common device? The failure either happened at the same time or within a day of each other

All I've done so far is to check all the fuses? I'll try and rip out the centre console next week to see if any plugs have come out

Thanks

Andrew

Remove the glove box first and check that the blue and White plugs are connected (upper righthand side)

Yup, they're both connected. Everything looks fine behind the EMV as well.

Removing the glove box and disconnecting the white one is a hell of a lot easier than unscrewing that top button panel with the EMV half out!!

I did notice after taking out the EMV that in the top right there (almost 5cm behind the fuel button) is a white plug which wasn't plugged into anything? I'll take a photo this weekend of it

Here's the photo, nothing seems disconnected from behind the dash, so I don't know what it is?

I might crack open the EMV for to look for anything obvious..

Just an update. I've started troubleshooting independently:

- Removed dash and replaced the TR109 transistor (the standard bottom of dash broken fix). Hasn't worked
- Removed EMV. AFter plugging it back in, it doesn't beep, doesn't work at all (are there CAPS that need to be charged? it was out of the car for 3 weeks)
- Going into reverse, the left hand bit still goes yellow?
- Middle bit still goes red if there is a warning?

Next step is to try and trouble shoot the EMV (I'll try and bench-power it to see if it's the unit or the car)

Any ideas on if there are any other things I should check?

Thanks,

Andrew

Hey Andrew did you find a solution to this? My soarer just started suffering the same problem. Missing the lower half the dash and climate controls. It's winter at the moment and would love to get my heater running again!

After doing a lot of googling and information searching, it comes down to a 40c fuse. Change the one in the CIG slot in the drivers foot well, by the drivers right foot. One 15 fuse and problem solved.
