Now I have to wait about fifteen minutes for all of the display to come up... (until it gets warm)

What is unique about it though is that ONLY the shift position and outside temperature comes up when u first start the car. No blinking whatsoever.

Can someone give me some assistance?

I have done it multiple times and followed this tutorial:
http://planetsoarer.com/dashrepair/dashrepair.htm

So I believe 6.3uF.

Are you sure you did it right? Did you make sure you soldered them all on correctly and correctly polarized?

Seems that you either stuffed up some soldering or there is something else wrong with your dash. Some do have other electronics die.

Thanks for the response Justin.

I had the wrong values.

I will do it over tomorrow and change ALL the ones circled here;

sorry for hijacking this thread people but i have recently tried this mod to rectify my odometer reading that sometimes works and sometimes fades away. i have replaced the 6 capacitors and the transistor ( which gave me a huge head ache). i hoped that would fix the problem but it didn't seem to. i now think that because the screen is also bleeding that it is just the screen.
what i want to know is, is there a way to swap the odometer screen from a different dash and have it still read the original km's that are on the car. (say i get a dash with 200k+ and put it on mine which is 120K and make it read 120k)?

any help will be much appreciated thanks

If you just replace the screen from another unit, the values should not change.

Well I replaced a total of SIX caps and still no luck. Something else is causing my display to come up late when the time is cold.

What about the cap the the right of the first cap circled in red? Has anyone ever replaced that?

Another minor issue has now developed as the clock resets each time I shut off.
