My front passenger side air strut doesn't rise up properly & it sits lower than the other struts (unbalancing the height of the car). The strut doesn't seem to be leaking any air, & my mechanic said it could be the electronic part on the strut which is broken. could that be the case? is it possible to test out the electrical part of the strut? In case its broken, does anyone know if is it possible to just swap it out with the electronic part from another strut (as i have a spare rear strut lying around)?

Which electronic bit?

The bit on the top is for the TEMS (I think).

The height is controlled by a connecting rod that goes between the car body and the lower control arm. There is a tut on how to adjust these.

It could be anything, maybe its a height control computer playing up. Do you have an aftermarket height controller?

I am talking about the electronic bit which is on top of the strut (connected to it). I had my old strut replaced & apparently the top electronic part on the new strut didn't work & the mechanic swapped them around. The strut doesn't loose air, but it just doesn't rise up as much as the other struts & sits probably 3-4 cm lower than the driver side strut. I have something that resembles some sort of controller, but it never engages the compressors, so the only way i have been adjusting the car's height has been using the stock normal/ high button. I have an earlier post in the suspension section as well ...

That top bit is the TEMS motor solenoid. It doesn't affect the height.

Based on the other link, if you haven't removed the aftermarket height controller, do that first.

If still a problem, swap over the height control computer, or even the height sensor. The height sensors can play up.

All I can suggest is go through a process of elimination.
