Hi guys.
I have brought a 94 Toyota Soarer Twin Turbo, After only driving the car to the mechanic with one turbo full of oil and the other working, not a great experience.
After a month, the car has been in the workshop with the turbo's out of the car and the battery terminals disconnected for the whole time.
Now I have the car back, working in perfect condition apart from the Speedo, RPM dash isn't working. The only part of the dash working is the "low fuel light" Indicators and the Catalytic converter light (Which is due to an aftermarket cat).
Apparently the mechanic checked the fuses under the bonnet and made sure the battery terminals connected.
Is there a switch to turn these on or off ? or anything.

if warning lights are on it could be the "blinky dash", caused by faulty capacitors in the dash. a good way to test this is to get the interior of the car hot, if the dash comes on after the car has been running or the heater has been going for a while, that is a sign the capacitors are failing. does the odometer, gear selector etc light up?

No, The only thing running is when I apply the handbrake, the light comes on, the fuel warning light comes on which is orange (I need fuel) and the hazard lights work along with the indicators.
The only things that aren't being displayed (as far as I know) are the Odometer, speedo, and the gear selector as from memory which have disappeared.

it could have done something to the capacitors, or the mechanics could have done something in that time. do a search on here for blinky dash, and follow the instructions, it is a fairly common soarer issue. otherwise it could be a loose or broken wire somewhere.

Maybe they had to jump the car at some stage? If so maybe they sent a spike through the system and popped some fuses. just tripple check you got them all. Or maybe it popped something in the cluster itself. Also try firstly disconnecting the battery again and resetting everything again. But you probably already tried this?

Great news.
I disconnected the Positive battery terminal (Since the car has a Mongoose M80 installed) The alarm went off quietly, thinking what's it going to do next.
Both battery terminals were not tightened, they were lose.
Tightened them both up and I checked the fuses of 20, 25 and 70 (I think) appeared to be fine.
Turned the car on and the dash lit up, Great the Odo didn't wipe ether.
