Recently my EMV has been acting a little funny.
When i press one of the buttons on the right to get to the change channel, or change aircon settings, the screen just goes white with nothing showing at all, and nothing able to be pressed.
I switched the EMV over into another soarer and the same thing happens, so the issue must be in the EMV itself somewhere.
Any of the guru's here able to enlighten me as to what it could be and how to fix? or would it be too hard?
Cheers
Chris

I pulled the EMV out, and pulled it apart as far as i could. (there's some wires connected which i'm not sure if they unplug or not)
I can't see anythign loose/leaking etc.. in fact it looks nearly brand new...

May as well post this here, I've pulled mine apart (not a fun time), turns out at the moment looks like a blown lamp, now anyone happen to know the watts that lamp pumps out?

I'll be putting in a PCB with an array of LED this looks like by far the easiest and best long term solution, but this all depends if the owner of the EMV wants to go this direction.

Just repair the thing properly.

Failed EMV lighting tubes account for less than 5 % of backlighting issues .

Spare parts for EMV screens are readily available now .

Maybe check the earth wire too.

It attaches to the car body through a screw on the right side that holds the centre console in under the dash.
