Hi guys!
Require some assistance in figuring out what on earth have I done to the car...(1999 3L straight six Soarer)
My left indicator decided to go nuts and is now blinking at twice the normal speed. At first I though this was just a dash glitch, so I got out of the car to check. And the stupid thing was, in fact, blinking twice as fast as normal. Right hand indicator remains the same as usual. Hazard lights also function correctly.
Now, does anyone know what on earth is going on? Is this some sort of a distress signal for Godzilla to attack Tokyo?
Please help, this is driving me nuts!
On a side note, my button for opening the boot died 3 weeks ago, however the remote still works and opens it fine.
Could these be related?
Only issue that I have (well, that I am aware of at least, since my luck hasn't been that great for quite some time...) is that I have 3 cracked engine mounts. This will be fixed on the weekend (original mounts @ $120 each x 3 plus $245 for labor)
Could the engine be sagging through and squashing the brains of the car and destroying electrics???
(I really don't know that much about cars, you could probably already tell this.)

An indicator globe could be blown causing less load on the Flasher Relay, replace blown globe with same spec globe - This is the most common cause of what you are experiencing.

Could be a brake light bulb too. If the resistance goes the indicator will blink twice as fast, I've had this happen. My indicator was working but my brake light was out.

I'd agree.
I found mine doing the same after 3 years of storage (off the road), however it was not the globe (s), but rust under the solder attaching the wire to the housing. (tail light had a leak). Trimmed the wire back, re soldered, all good.
The indicator flashing and clicking fast is actually a legal requirement I believe, as the driver is required to be visually and audibly notified of the failure (mechanically or electronically).

Yet I don't think many drivers know that fast flashing indicator means a bulb is out, Doesn't the "Lamp Failure" light come up on the dash or is that only if a tail light goes out?
