Okay so I used the existing plugs & wiring in my car for the stereo instead of the plugs/wiring which also came with the tape player. So I plugged everything up as it should, the same way & now it won't even work at all, so I'll check the fuse, if not, what could my problem be ?
1. It came with a spare set of the plugs & wiring needed for the stereo & climate control. So I didn't bother with the climate control plugs & just plugged up the back of the headunit followed by the Orange, White, Green & whatever other colour plugs that sit in the plastic retainer under the headunit out front.
2. Put the keys in ignition to test it, all good, it turns on. So then I plug in the Volume/Power nob to test it, click it to switch the unit on & off & it works but when I turn it for the volume nothing happens ?
3. If I turn my parker lights on the unit constantly turns on & off, but then comes good the moment I turn my lights off ?
4. I scrap using the duplicate plugs & wiring that came with the headunit & use all the same plugs & wiring that were still in my car instead, once it's all connected up it won't even work at all now.
Electrics is not one of my fortés, so any help & insight would be much appreciated.

Something is either wired up wrong, fused or cables are split and shorting. If in doubt check ALL wiring (or live with the gap, don't plug the tape player in or return it to factory and check that that works)
