Ok we all know after a while they all start to skip. Something about the soarer I don't know. Some play burnt CDs and some don't. Some guys can fix them if you post them off to them.
But does anyone know what the fault is with them? As in what is it that fails/breaks that causes the constant skipping every few seconds??

Michael, you may find a cheaper solution is to hard wire your iPod into the TV connections under the back seat. You can easily feed a cable from the TV tuner under the carpet and up into the bin between the seats. I find this a much more flexible solution as well. No more skipping over bumps. No more mucking about with a changer in the boot. No more burning CD's. 10,000+ songs on call. Easy to make playlists for long trips. I have used my iPod this way for about 5 years and would never go back to CD's.

Thanks Murray, I totally agree and infact did the tv mod a few years back and have a 12v digital tv tuner wired to the old factory tuner. So most places I go around Melbourne I got sbs, 7,9, 10 and all the rest at the touch of a button on emv. The iPod I have made a connector and done previously. I don't know why I want cd, I reckon it is just cause there is a button for it so I want it to work

I got the digital tuner from dick smith a few years back when they where clearing out old stock. It is a very small unit not much bigger than a tubro timer. I used the 4 antenas that were plugged into the factory tv tuner. Oh and if you find a tuner you have to make sure it puts out an NTSC signal or it won't work. But the results on mine were really good, picture quality around most of Melbourne is really impressive, it blew me away when I first saw it. Only draw back it you are not able to receive signal while moving over about 25kph (it's illegal to watch while moving tho)
out of interest where did you get a 12v DVD player? Make? Model? Cost?

I took out the whole Radio DSP/TV tuner everything under the rear seats. I'm using a single din fold out screen Kenwood dvd player mate. Cost? $500 on ebay.
But yeah I'm quite interested in the tv tuner in mine without ugly rabbit antennas. When I find that I'll put in my headrest screens. Hmm
