My 91 TT for some reason has started displaying an orange warning light (which is next to the seatbelt warning light) on my dash, it looks like a orange car with blinking tail lights, but for the life of me i have no idea what it means, originally it came on and disappeared after turning my car off and on again but now its pretty much on permanently... i thought it may be the rear lights but they're all fine, can i chalk it down to my dash being on the warpath or does it actually mean something i need to worry about? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. (yes I did check the common dash warning light page but its just about the only symbol that isn't on there!)

i have the same thing... constantly... when i turn my car on its not there... but as soon as i do anything, such as touch the breaks, it comes on.... my thoughts that it was a globe out since i have one in the sub cover thats out ( if anyone knows how to get to this please give me some advice )

If its the light i think it is its the light blown warning.
I had the same thing whenever i touched the brakes or turned the lights on it would come up. one of my tail lights was gone.
It happened again a while ago but then stopped and started for ages cause the connection on the bulb i changed was loose....probably best to check all your lights next time it comes on...if it is what i am thinking it is...
I'm fairly sure we're all talking about the same light, and Matt it definitely made sense to me for it to be the blown light symbol, except the fact that all my lights were/are working :S but thanks i didn't think to check the fittings to see if they are loose or not!

turns out it was a loose wire to my left side indicator, it worked, just the current fluctuated was knocked loose from keeping my long board in the boot. fixed with a pair of pliers duct tape and a multimeter.
